Proud Bruin here. UCLA is the most popular college in the U.S. It receives more applications than anywhere else, and for good reason! With noteworthy alumni, a thriving athletic program, and a stunning campus in the middle of an exciting, iconic city, the time I spent here was a blast....more
Shin-Sen-Gumi makes ramen like how I had it in Tokyo, and for that it is my favorite in Southern California. You can customize your bowl - noodle chewiness, oiliness of the broth, spicy level, etc. Worth the drive!
I grew up going to Sea World all the time, but I must say that the Aquarium of the Pacific rivals it, despite being quite smaller and not having orcas. The rainbow lorikeet forest was especially memorable and I have a few pictures of birds resting on my hands. You can't get that kind of experience at...more
I don't know why this place is in my Los Angeles passport. TJ Oyster Bay is in Bonita, CA, which is in southern San Diego. It is one of my favorite places in the world, totally "last meal" status. I always, always get the shrimp ceviche tostada and a plate of three fish tacos. All of that...more

All the carby treasures without the wait you'll experience at their Irvine location? I'm so there. If you've never been to an 85C bakery, prepare yourself. You'll wait in line until an employee lets you in. Then, you pick up a tray, line it with wax paper, and grab a pair of tongs....more
So much to see at Venice Beach! It's not my favorite L.A. beach for actual sunbathing and playing in the water, but more for the people watching and the boardwalk. Bring your camera and check out all the characters selling random crafts and all types of people skateboarding and rollerblading in...more
This place is awesome! I wouldn't say I'm particularly interested in space, but I still enjoy myself whenever I pay Griffith Observatory a visit. Even if you aren't interested in the museum, coming here is worth it simply for the views! You can get a decent glimpse of the Hollywood...more
