Good spot for a quick sushi fix! They have some pretty interesting rolls. I got the Sunset Roll. It wasn't bad, but I have to admit that the asparagus in it kind of threw me off. I tried the ones my friend ordered too (the only one I remember is the Playboy Roll, haha)--they were pretty delicious! Also, all the zany Godzilla decor was fun to read while waiting for my food. Overall, a good place to drop by if you're craving sushi. The service is quick and efficient. Their special rolls are pretty yummy, but not the best sushi I've had in the city. ;)
Sophie's Crepes usually has too long of a wait, so this place another great option. The wait here is never too bad, even if there's a line. Unlike Sophie's Crepes, the crepes at Belly Good are softer. There's also a lot of options for making custom crepes, but their premade ones are extremely delicious as well! They're known for their "happy face" crepes--which essentially means they'll make some kind of adorable sculpture out of the ice cream on your crepe. Always puts a smile to my face. :)
Randomly picked this place to eat when I was hanging out with friends around the Haight, but I'm glad we walked in here! The atmosphere is pretty cozy and relaxing, especially on a chilly San Francisco day. Also, the portions are gargantuan. There is no other word to describe it. The bowls are about the size of an XL pho noodle bowl. So, you can imagine how much bang for your buck you get here. The presentation isn't amazing, but it tastes so gooood. Definitely satisfied my noodle cravings. Best to come here if you're starving!
Of the few times I've been here (usually due to convenience of location), the service is always excruciatingly slow and inattentive.
The food is pretty standard, nothing too inspiring or stands out. The portions are nice though; I'm always stuffed afterwards.
Come for a quick brunch craving, but don't expect anything spectacular.
I got the French and Fries Turkey Burger. Quite possibly one of the top 5 burgers I've had in the city. So juicy, flavorful, and comforting. Everything tastes so fresh. Huge plus: they have sweet potato fries!
Extremely small place. If you come during peak dinner hours, the wait can get pretty long, but after freezing out in the cold, the food tastes just that much better. The chicken teriyaki is my favorite (not your usual chicken teriyaki--you get huge drumsticks with very tender meat!).
The other items are good, but not too memorable. The curry can also be inconsistent. Once, my curry still had a crazy amount of curry powder chunks in it--felt like I was eating salt rocks.
My favorite Samovar location. On sunny days, having a cup of tea outside overlooking the gardens is so relaxing!
This place gets pretty packed during lunch hours. There's almost never any seats available. But, the food is so delicious and comforting, especially during fall/winter! It just hits the spot.
I called them before heading out to see how long the wait for 6 people would be, and although I mentioned nothing of making a reservation, they went ahead and set up a table of 6 for me and my party when we arrived--how nice! (There was no wait time on a Wednesday night.)
The venue isn't too big, but it's very cozy and comfortable--my favorite type of ambiance for an Italian restaurant. The service was excellent--very friendly and knowledgeable. My parents took forever deciding what to order, so I give props to how patient our waiter was. The servers were all very attentive as well. There was never a time where a glass on our table was half-empty!
The food was really good! I sampled some of the dishes my family ordered--all were equally delicious. However, the dish I ordered (Conchiglie pasta) was absolutely impeccable. The marriage of flavors (pecorino cheese, garlic, butter) and textures (kale, soft cauliflower, pancetta) completely wow'ed me! Definitely did not expect it. The portions may look a bit small, but it wound up being the perfect amount--any more food and I'd feel bloated. :) I'll be back for sure to try the other dishes!
