I gave this location 4 stars because of the location, on Balboa Island one block away from Newport Beach. The food and drinks are a firm 3 stars. Just not as good as the other locations. I would absolutely pick the HB or Costa Mesa locations over this one any day.
I my write about luxury travel but have been known to indulge in a little bit of hostel action, once in a great while. As hostels go, this one is probably the best I have seen in terms of cleanliness. The staff was great and I would not hesitate recommending this to budget travellers.
I really liked this Spanish Restaurant... It is on 2nd near Ocean, so centrally located. What captured my imagination was the decor, It's dark, full of dark wood, low lighting and feels very adult. It is at once cool, trendy with an atmosphere that is refind but not stuffy. I was with my friend a vegetarian so worried about choices. The staff immediately put my fears at bay. There are some wonderful choices for everyone. I loved every dish! I will say the food was a tad salt heavy but for me (an avowed salt lover) that was perfect! The Red Pepper Sangria was a standout!!! Let me say once more that the staff, from the GM to the cashier made this a wonderful experience!
This is the perfect place for Angelenos to escape. Located in Bel-Air secluded in what appears to be a canyon is this perfect oasis. The rooms or cottages are laid out so that you never feel like you are in a hotel. The service is precise without being stuffy and the atmosphere is sublime! I would highly recommend High Tea, which is offered every Friday and Saturday.
I like to call Costa Mesa the gateway to Newport Beach...
The city has the South Coast Plaza an array of restaurants and generally is a good all around place to hang out. Costa Mesa is also the home of the Orange County Fairgrounds which hosts concerts, events and of course the fair in spring and summer.
If you are a lover of Pilates or are just seeking a bit of balance then Dantian Studio is the place to go. I was amazed at all of the services available. There is yoga, acupuncture, a wellness physician, an aesthetician. Fans of Pilates Reformer machines rejoice, there are classes. There is even babysitting. I can't wait to go back and try one of the treatments. An OC gem!!
This cute little boutique hotel is on Wilshire Blvd. between Beverly Hills, near the Miracle Mile and Koreatown. A great property for business travelers it has great amenities and the staff is wonderful. The highlight is the rooftop bar with sweeping views, great wines and yummy cocktails. This is a great option for those that want a nice hotel that won't break the wallet.
I was an invited guest to an event and that is how I found the Mouche Gallery. The museum is smart and trendy. The photographs are vintage but presented in a modern, luxurious setting. This is a great find for lovers of Pop Culture and trendsters will lose their minds. It is that good!
This is one of the best breakfast/lunch places in Costa Mesa! The food is excellent and fresh. Pet lovers will love the dog treats that await your furry friends. The salads are huge and if I have one recommendation it would be to try the Turkey Sandwich on Pretzel Bread (with truffle oil) Amazeballs!!
This is a great boutique hotel located in the heart of Beverly Hills. i have to immediately say that it is my go-to choice for the future based on quality and especially service. The service level is excellent, personal and will just leave you smiling. The rooms are well appointed with every possible amenity and the art work, original and divine! The best latte in town? At the lounge bar. YUM!
I really love this boutique hotel located in the heart of Downtown LA. It was recently renovated and has an urban chic feel. It is clean, modern but not so modern that it feels impersonal. The restaurant/bar is full of trendsters but very cool with an easy feel. I can't wait to go back!
This latest addition to Koreatown is my absolute favorite!! From the architecture to the staff, every detail is perfect! Celebrity Chef Roy Choi has opened the lobby bar, aptly named 'Pot' with a restaurant soon to come! The atmosphere is hipster cool, distinctly Korean. The rooms are comfortable, all of the furniture was specially designed for the hotel and the rooms have floor to ceiling windows. Koreatown has come a long way and this is truly the best of the best!!
I loved the atmosphere, the food and the consistently great service at this cafe. In the heart of West Hollywood it's a great option! I had the Crab Benedict and it was yummy! The service was spot on. I would suggest that if you want coffee that you order a double. It's huge and completely satisfying!!
I decided to check out their new 'brick and mortar' location at the Grand Central Market. It was really so good. I had the Steak and Eggs, cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. Seriously the best meal I have had since I have been in LA. At $10.00 a pop...well worth it!!
