Located in the lively rue de Montmartre near métro Étienne Marcel you will find "The Crazy Heart", a bar that really stands out and is always bursting with young and hip Parisians! Inside is a long glowing bar where you can order beer, wine and cocktails while listening to great music. Little candles placed in alcoves along the walls, a sparkling chandelier, and a raised seating area complete with fiery red cushions add a romantic and classy touch to an otherwise ordinary bar. Seating is limited and it can get pretty crowded, especially when there are DJ sets, but its a great place to mingle and meet new people!
This restaurant, located up the peaceful end of rue Lepic, is one of my favorites in the Montmartre neighbourhood! With its red door and window shutters it looks like a farmhouse or country cottage and inside this small village feel continues. Stone walls and wood tables are simply decorated and downstairs is a second dining room that can be reserved for a private dinner. Now, lets talk about the food...everything Ive tried here has been great. My favorite dish: their hamburger, which is served in a paprika springled bun with a generous slice of Saint Nectaire cheese (and a side of salad and garlic potatoes) that is beyond amazing! They also have a delicious brunch on weekends and chocolate fondue is always on the dessert menu if you have room. And don't worry, after dinner you can work off all those calories by walking up the steps to Sacré-Coeur nearby.
Stayed here for 2 nights (120 Euros/night) and loved it! I recommend that you rent a car/buggy or scooter because otherwise it is quite a trek from the harbour up into the hills with a suitcase! Also keep your eyes open for the small sign indicating the turn off as its easy to miss. Once you've found it though, its wonderful! The rooms are roomy and comfortable with individual balconies and a clean bathroom. There is also a gorgeous outdoor pool and bar overlooking Adamas below and you eat your breakfast under a vine covered terrace with little kittens running around. Elias was super helpful and even called up the rental car company to explain the problem in Greek so that everything was sorted. A great base for exploring the island of Milos!
Really love this quirky bar in the Oberkampf area of Paris. They have yummy food like chicken skewers with peanut/coconut sauce, gaucamole with sweet potato fries and fish cakes as well as a huge selection of drinks. The décor is colorful and playful, the music is always great, and the staff are friendly. Its also possible to privatize a section of the bar for parties (my friend celebrated her bday here)! After 10 it gets super crowded as its a popular spot with the locals. Its also walking distance to rue Jean-Pierre timbaud and rue Oberkampf, both of which are full of other great places to party!
This is where I spent most of my time during the summer months of Vancouver! Its always crowded with people as it is in the trendy kits area, full of great restaurants and shops nearby. Theres also an outdoor pool, basketball/tennis courts, and people playing beach volleyball, so its great for those of you who like summer sports.
