Museums are the window into the culture of a people and this one has it in spades. Iceland is all about the sea, and this is a place that can teach you a lot. It's a fascinating history, with Vikings and legends. It's good stuff.
You have to do it. It's the best way to get around, and the people you meet along the way are terrific. I have a whole collection of pictures just from my trip on the Gray Line. I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
There is nothing like Skyr. In America we can only get it in certain places. It's not quite yogurt. It's different. It's thicker, like custard. It's one of my favorite things, and I loved seeing how they make it, although a lot of locals still make their own at home on the farm....more
This place is an amazing piece of architecture. I love to see the architecture of a city, because it shows the personality of the area and its people. This building is modern and beautiful. The walkways are surreal.
This is the place to go for the view. If you like to take pictures, this is the spot. I remember taking pictures of the sunset here after midnight. During the day, the massive ships and small boats side by side make for great photos.
