Very solid pizza joint in Salt Lake City. I was not expecting to find much in the way of alternative lifestyles here, but I was wrong. I had a delicious stromboli, but they also sold slices and full pizzas.
Just discovered this new place in Menlo Park. The location is a bit odd, as it doesn't really get much foot traffic, but they have a great authentic menu - definitely not a burrito joint. We shared a bunch if small plates for lunch, which was a great way to go.
Cool little out of the way BBQ joint in unlikely Sebastopol. Menu is pretty limited - as it should be at a BBQ joint - so don't come looking for anything else. It's got a great patio as well, perfect for a summer evening.
I will confess that I went to St. Pete not expecting much out of the restaurants. But this place would hold its own against any of the foodie restaurants elsewhere in the world. The skateboard themed-design is very cool and laid back (see how many subtle nods to skateboarding you can find scattered throughout the place) and gives the place a very laid back feel. The menu - even for lunch - is full of intresting combos and old favorites. Definitely worth a visit.
I'd always assumed that because of its prime location and over the top marketing machine that it would be bad food at high prices. Turns out it is neither. Definitely worth a visit when on the Vineyard - particularly for breakfast. And if you break down and buy a t shirt, no one will blame you.
Seems a bit out if place, wedged between decades-old seaside buildings (it's actually attached to the Mansion House hotel), but this place surprises. The menu is a mix of Chinese and Japanese food, which is usually a warning sign, but they pull it off. We had a bunch of fresh, delicious sushi. Certainly a nice change of pace from your standard tourist fare.
Martha's Vineyard is great. Vineyard Haven is a nice place to stop on your way from the ferry to somewhere else, and even a good place for a meal, but we tried to spend most of our time on other parts of the island
This is a beautiful building, and the location is very convenient for the ferry. However, it is way overpriced for what it is - I will look a bit further the next time I come to Matha's Vineyard
So, maybe calling this ace four stars will conjure up something more than what it really is: a great alternative to fast food chains. There aren't many places like this left, so patronize it while you still have the chance.
I was not expecting to like this place - I thought it would be just another resort restaurant. However, it's got a great menu, good service, and a cool little outdoor patio for an after dinner drink. For dessert (pictured) we had a strawberry basil pound cake - sounds weird, but delicious!
Ok. Yes. This place is expensive. And I don't say this lightly - but it is so worth it. I've never been anywhere in Napa that made me feel like I didn't actually want to leave to go taste wine, but Carneros does make you feel like there's no reason to leave
Good low key sushi in the Richmond. Interesting menu, including lots of good non-sushi options
