One of my favorite cities in the world. Seattle on a summer's day can't be beat. It's a city of neighborhoods, and perfect for exploring. A great food scene, craft beers, and of course, wonderful coffee. Seattle is a fun place to explore, or use as a jumping off point for heading out to...more
Book Bindery is an upscale restaurant, with a wine tasting room attached to it. Located on the ship canal, it has wonderful views of the park and canal. The interior is tastefully decorated, with windows into a room of wine barrels. The food is delicious. It was an older crowd, and there were several...more
Golden Gardens is a great beach and park. The views across the Sound to the Olympics are spectacular on a clear day, whether it's January or July. A big portion of the beach is sand before turning to small stones farther on. You can have fires on the beach, and there's a stream that is...more
Paseo's sandwiches are delicious. Like its sister restaurant in Fremont, expect long lines here. If you're headed down to Shilshole Marina or to Golden Gardens, a stop here will provide you with great picnic fare.
This is a great little tapas restaurant. A marvelous wine list, and delicious food. The upstairs has an open kitchen, and you can sit at a bar and watch the chefs or at tables. Downstairs has a small, cozy, and charming dining room. The staff was friendly, and provided just the right level of service....more
St Clouds is a great spot for brunch. They have some of the classics as well as their own take on dishes. It feels like (because it is) you local neighborhood restaurant that serves high quality food, where friends come together, and where the staff gets to know you. I'll go back for sure....more
On a sunny day, the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge is tough to beat. It has amazing views of the city, and you get Rainier to the south, Baker to the north, the Cascades to the East, and Olympics to the west. It's a fairly quick trip, and the ferry is convenient to public transit on the Seattle side,...more
This is a very nice place for dinner. The restaurant is one of Seattle's best, by Seattle's native son. The Tuna was cooked to perfection. A great place for a nice business dinner, a special date, or a special occasion.
