I wouldn't say I highly recommend as much as I would say I insist that when you come to Dubrovnik you do this. The views of the city and the sea are awesome. It's a great walk and it does take one time.
I love this city and maybe because its nothing like NY or any of the other major cities in the world. It's relatively small and circled in completely by a Medeval wall. It has a great beach right outside of it, beautiful old buildings, squares, museums, Art, Statues and friendly people....more
Stayed here when I was funemployed a few years back. Location wise it's great...close enough to walk to town or just take a bus or cab...far enough from all the tour groups. The private beach is a stunning mix of blue green waters. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The morning...more
I found out only a few years ago that my Grandfather and his brother were Croatian and not Austrian like we thought. When I came into the temple I wondered if this is where he came to pray. While Onofrio's Fountain may not be huge like the Trevi in Rome it is a very cool fountain with intricate artwork decorating it all around. Don't just walk by and take a quick snapshot. Take you time...it's well worth it...more
This is a great Clock Tower right in the middle of the city. While not as fancy or majestic as those in Prague or Munich it still has its own character nonetheless. Grab a coffee at one of the cafe's and watch time slowly go by...more
I took some great pictures of the boats here and of the harbor itself. This is where you come to jump on one of the tour boats to visit the neighboring islands. Or if you're lucky enough where you keep your boat.
Pile Gate is how you get to and from Banje a beach. It's very cool especially check out the old winch system. Great for people watching around here as well. I saw a stunningly beautiful woman walk by in a short wetsuit with a speargun...I though I was in a Bond movie!...more
