This is a great little city north of Barcelona with a lot of history. It used to be a thriving Jewish community until 1492 when my brethren were expelled. This is a cool little bridge that is great for taking pictures up and down it of all the colorful picturesque buildings that run along the river. It's actually one of 11 bridges in Girona and this one is where the four rivers meet. It's also red which adds to the great pics you can take of it....more
This is a beautiful old Cathedral that was the first thing we hit when we got to Girona. The stairs are so high and steep I wondered if they were supposed to be the stairway to heaven or were built for defensive purposes.
These were pretty cool and date back to the 12th century. I'm really into history so I liked them, and Girona is a fairly small city so think they are worth stopping in to check out. Let your imagination run wild what they must have been like and what went up back then......more
