Centennial Olympic Park

265 Park Avenue West Northwest, Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Thomas Dale's rating: 5
Constructed in 1996 as part of Atlanta’s preparations to host that summer’s Olympic games, the park still provides a taste of the excitement around Atlanta’s bid to host the worldwide event. That summer, the park played host to a variety of Olympic celebrations, including medal presentations. The park’s iconic fountain of rings features a series of timed, lighted water jets set around a giant Olympic games five ring symbol. Shows at the fountain are presented every day of the year. In July 2013, a new attraction was added to the park: the SkyView Atlanta ferris wheel, a giant, air conditioned ride that provides 200 foot high views of Atlanta’s downtown skyline.
