Mullumbimby is like Byron Bay's little lesser known sister. A beautiful little hippie town that draws in alternatively minded immigrants from around the world. Great place to go to get away from the crazy backpacker scene in Byron.
I know that British and Aussie style savory pies are generally seen as junk food but in Byron Shire you can find some yummy somewhat more healthy varieties like spinach and feta. As an American I found pies to be quite a treat!
Very nice fitness center for such a little town. I went their for a yoga workshop but took a stroll around to check out the other facilities. They had new equipment and the place never seems to be overly crowded.
The local fresh fish and fish and chips shop. Fish and chips are still quite popular in Australia left over from the British colonial influence. In Mullum Hooked & Cooked is the place for fish and chips!
One of two pizza places in town. I think both are good for their different reasons. Buon Appetito is great for large pies to take away. If you want more of a sit and dine atmosphere I would recommend Milk & Honey.
One of the bigger pubs in downtown Mullumbimby this bar and restaurant is located right in the center of town. It's a pretty typical bar with pool tables and sports on the TV. And they have a good standard dinning menu.
