Afternoon Tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel

    28 reviews

Do not buy bath/beauty products at the Fairmont Store! If it turns out you're allergic to it, you can't return it, regardless of how sick it makes you! "Customer Service Manager" couldn't care less, and couldn't provide a supervisor's name to escalate matter. Buy your products from a store that cares about your well-being (or at least your future business)!

    Japadog (Burrard & Pender)

    13 reviews

The Japadog stand is a local favorite in Vancouver and a good, unique place for budget-minded eaters. Anthony Bourdain from No Reservations had a japadog here as well as other celebrities (their pictures are posted on the food stand). It looks strange but the mix of seaweed, mayonnaise, and sausage makes it taste oddly delicious.

    Red Fish Blue Fish

    10 reviews

Expensive for what you get but people seem to like the experience. Be prepared to wait for 30 minutes in the summer in a queue, then fight for a seat or eat on your lap. We used to eat here but now it's just too much trouble. Try the place above milestones. They have an outdoor burger place that is ...

    Rebar Modern Food

    9 reviews

Jody's first job in Victoria was serving at Rebar. They have a fantastic vegetarian menu and we still enjoy going there. They have a juice/smoothy bar for a quick energy stop if you need one. They also sell their cookbook's there and it's a staple of many Victoria kitchens.

    Meat & Bread

    7 reviews

The Porchetta sandwich alone is worth the trip down there. I would have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could. The meat is so tender and flavourful, drool drool drool. Must try!

    Steamworks Brewing Co.

    12 reviews

I try to come here whenever I'm in town. I've had good luck with their craft beers, and like the ambiance and the brewpub menu. I also like the Vancouver locale (near Gas Town) and the view of the water.

    Alibi Room

    7 reviews

Great Selection of Beer. This place is sort of a walk away from Gastown, but not too far, also there isn't too many other restaurants around the area so I suggest start your drinking and eating here then move towards Gastown where there are tons of bars to visit

Joe Fortes Seafood & Chop House

    7 reviews

Named after a Trinidadian who was a teacher of children to swim in English Bay. His presence is still felt in Vancouver and this restaurant is an acknowledgment of his life. Excellent seafood. A bit pricy, however, you will not be disappointed.

    Brasserie L'Ecole

    6 reviews

This is our go to place for special occasions and romantic dinners. One of Victoria's best by far, they don't take reservations. If you have to wait for a table the bar is an excellent place to wait. Local owner.
