You will see more of Germany than Cuba here: Varadero is Cuba's package holiday hotel hub. Everyone except for the staff at these hotels are foreigners.
The beaches, however, are exquisite. I did enjoy them. There are some "casa particulares" (private houses) that foreigners are allowed to stay at these days which is a cheaper and more interesting way to experience Cuba if you wish to stay in this lovely coastal resort town.

Such an amazing town with so much to offer! Shopping, cafes, tours and beaches all there! All basically on one street so it's easy to see it all. Very cool looking old buildings and houses that are still being used. Extremely safe and locals are so friendly!! Been going there for 2 weeks every yesr now for the past 8 years. Love it!

Varadero is a good place to stay if you are in Cuba. The beach is nice and there are things going on in the area at night if you want to go out dancing and have a drink. It is also a good location for a day trip to La Havana which is about 2 hours away by car. Many of the hotels will offer day trips to La Havana and I really recommend it as there are many things to see there.

The Cuban people are probably the warmest, kindest people I've ever met. But that was the only thing I liked about Varadero. Accommodation was mediocre, food was bland and unfortunately, we had rain most of the week we were there. Golf course was so so. Canadians everywhere.

very nice, the breezes varadero resort is great and has some great people i call friends now working at that resort. the clubs are very fun, very hot and very packed, mostly canadians everywhere you look too. food is great at the resorts but i've found some great ones by just going out around town. P.S. rent a scooter and ride the town, beautiful
