    The Bar Hemingway

    7 reviews

Adorned with Hemingway memorabilia, stocked with his favorite whiskey and tucked into the heart of the opulent Ritz Paris, this classic bar is a throw back to a more refined age. It's a wonderful experience to visit and enjoy a drink in Hemingway's shadow, and the attentive upkeep makes it easy to envision what the place must have been like ...

The secret is to stay a few steps away and squint at the painting walls and you'll find the paintings are so lifelike as the water, the lotus and the willow seem to be moving

    Pyramide du Louvre

    26 reviews

The entrance plaza for the Louvre has two glass pyramids, one of which is the actual entrance. In contrast to the old architecture around it, these modern pieces give the area a bit more life, even if people initially complained about the change.

    Jeu de Paume

    6 reviews

Jeu de Paume is a small museum at the end of the Tuileries that somehow seems to escape the hordes of tourists. Their exhibitions are usually incisive and focused, showing works from the 20th and 21st century. Check the exhibition calendar to see if it piques your interest.

While there's no shortage of men's bespoke shirtmakers, there's one which continues to attract special cachet (or snob value, depending on your point of view). Charvet has been drawing them in since 1838 and its principal outlet just by the Ritz in Paris the place to come to get your hands on one of these. Noel Coward, Bing Crosby, Presidents ...

Great idea for first time visitors. Take a hop-on hop-off bus tour and find your bearings. You can get off at the attractions which are further away from the centre, and save the more easily walked sights for later in your trip.
