    Pyramide du Louvre

    27 reviews

Amazing inside and out! I love the contrast of the modernness of the glass pyramid against the big old stone Louvre. The pyramid has really come to define the look of the museum!

    Jardin des Tuileries

The Tuileries is a garden set on the spot where the French Royal Palace once stood and where Kings all the way through Louis XVI stayed when they were in Paris. During the reign of Louis XIV it was superseded by Versailles but the Revolution brought the royal family back to Paris. Napoleon made his home here during the days ...

    Musee de l'Orangerie

    35 reviews

This was first on my list of places to visit the last time I was in Paris. It was by far one of my favorite collections I have ever seen. If you like Monet, you will love these giant canvases of waterlilies!

Fashionista mecca ain't what it used to be. Now seems to be geared toward well-funded young tourists given the abundance of street fashion and A Bathing Ape mini-outlet within. The upstairs luxury collection still outstanding, if out of reach.

    The Bar Hemingway

    7 reviews

Adorned with Hemingway memorabilia, stocked with his favorite whiskey and tucked into the heart of the opulent Ritz Paris, this classic bar is a throw back to a more refined age. It's a wonderful experience to visit and enjoy a drink in Hemingway's shadow, and the attentive upkeep makes it easy to envision what the place must have been like ...

    Jeu de Paume

    6 reviews

Jeu de Paume is a small museum at the end of the Tuileries that somehow seems to escape the hordes of tourists. Their exhibitions are usually incisive and focused, showing works from the 20th and 21st century. Check the exhibition calendar to see if it piques your interest.

While there's no shortage of men's bespoke shirtmakers, there's one which continues to attract special cachet (or snob value, depending on your point of view). Charvet has been drawing them in since 1838 and its principal outlet just by the Ritz in Paris the place to come to get your hands on one of these. Noel Coward, Bing Crosby, Presidents ...

Great idea for first time visitors. Take a hop-on hop-off bus tour and find your bearings. You can get off at the attractions which are further away from the centre, and save the more easily walked sights for later in your trip.

    W.H. Smith

    1 review

The Paris branch of the British book retailer, WH Smith, is located on Rue de Rivoli, right in front of the Jardin des Tuileries. It has a large selection of English books, which is rare in Paris. It is where I often go when in need of a book, birthday card or a favorite British food product (yes they have ...
