    Hotel Silva Ariel

Fair - 70% of guests recommend

Walking distance from the train, this is a cute little bed and breakfast in Cannaregio, the old Jewish Ghetto of Venice. Rooms are very small and few, but well-maintained. Today, the main street, Strada Nuova, is a bustling shopping area. Calle della Masena is right off of this thoroughfare, so you will find great restaurants and shops close by. Try ...

    Hotel Il Mercante di Venezia

    Class:

Fair - 74% of guests recommend

Cannaregio is a great place to explore if you're staying in Venice. The Il Mercante is a simple hotel, but with all the things needed for a short stay in Venice. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, but no elevator and the breakfast room is in another building. If you are only staying one or two nights it's ok but ...

    Hotel Pensione Seguso

    Class:

Very Good! - 81% of guests recommend

If it were up to me, I’d have all of my family reunions, bachelorette party getaways, and business meetings at this charming little pensione. It’s right on the waterfront alongside a little canal, and when you’re out front, you can hear water lapping and splashing under the beautiful bridge a few steps away. One of the reasons this hotel would ...

Very comfortable, homey atmosphere in this little bed and breakfast. Only eight rooms so it's good to book in advance. There is no WiFi but if you are only here for a couple days it's worth the price. It's a perfect way to disconnect as well, unless you have to work while on vacation.

    Locanda Art Deco

    Class:

Very Good! - 81% of guests recommend

The feel of this place is oddly less “art deco” than a couple other modern hotels I’ve been to in Venice, but it’s a nice, cute spot that’s definitely run with love and attention to detail. My favorite room here is the Economic option on the top floor, which has a sloped attic-style roof and a sweet little bathroom with ...

    Hotel Campiello

    Class:

Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

This little hotel was charming, it's tucked away right off of Riva Degli Schiavoni, around the corner from its sister hotel, Paganelli. The two are owned by sisters, and the property used to be a convent. For the value, in comparison to others, this hotel is a steal, and consequently full at most times, so it's best to book in ...

Located at the furthest corner of Strada Nuova from the train station, on the way to all Venice's main attractions, Hotel Mignon is on a quiet alley and has a non-pretentious feel to it. The lobby and outdoor garden are equipped with free WiFi and are a pleasant oasis from the craziness of the main drag. One suite can accommodate ...

    Alloggi Agli Artisti

    Class:

Mediocre - 66% of guests recommend

Though it looks small from the front, this hotel is actually gigantic inside, for Venice. Rooms are very modern, simple and clean. Breakfast is included. WiFi also. Overall it was convenient, since close to the train (one block away) and a little noisy in the early morning but this is a good wake-up call to go see the sights!

Mestre is the town just outside Venice, so definitely a quieter scene here. The Holiday Inn offers comfortable space and good service, especially for groups of families or business travelers. If you're looking to stay close to Venice and for a bargain, book with Holiday Inn Venice Mestre Marghera. Internet and breakfast are not included, and there is a restaurant ...

Ca' San Giorgio Relais & Suites

    Class:

Though this hotel is small, it doesn’t feel cramped – instead, it feels like a carefully curated, unpretentious paradise only meant to be enjoyed by a few at a time. The foyer is partly open to the sky and therefore feels like a mini garden, and the reception desk is in a small, but airy room that has the feel ...

The hotel is a small boutique hotel. Just off the Grand Canal behind San Stae church. It is in the Santa Croce sestieri or district of Venice, which is not a major tourist area but it is close to Rialto Bridge and access to the Grand Canal makes everything else within quick reach. We had a junior suite and a ...

Something about this hotel reminds me of the nicer dorms I saw when checking out colleges so many years ago. It’s that feeling of communality, convenience, utility, and no-frills attractiveness that I remember from newer buildings at UCSB and UC Santa Cruz. There are vending machines and menus for nearby restaurants in the lobby, a couple dining rooms that can ...

If you’re looking for dorm-style accommodations, you’d be hard-pressed to find a place more convenient than this one. From the train station, take a left down the main drag until you get to a big piazza, then check in at Hotel San Geremia (which specializes in smaller private rooms). The clerk will take you several yards away to Calderan, which ...

The hotel is on a quiet canal right around the corner from a more busy hotel area, so in terms of location I thought it was perfect. Hotel Gritti Palace

Gritti Palace is a classic, with rock solid service. It has Old World gorgeousness and charm. It used to be the home of a Doge, whose name was Gritti. Hemingway called this place home (a suite is named after him). Rooms are lavish. If you are looking for a "Grand Hotel" kind of experience, it is right here. Private gondola ...
