The most perfectly situated luxury hotel in Venice. A stone's throw from the Piazza San Marco an along the main drag of shops on the land side while having some of the best views of the Grand Canal on the water side. Upscale service, and a fabulous outdoor terrace on the canal are perfect in summertime.

Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

With some rooms overlooking the Basilica San Marco, this Old-World Venetian hotel is exquisitely decorated. Rooms are decadent. The lounge area is very classy and it feels like stepping onto a cruise ship. Dark wood paneling throughout the lobby and a nice snack bar. If you want to be impressed, this is definitely the right place to stay.

    Palazzo Sant'Angelo sul Canal Grande

    Palazzo Sant'Angelo sul Canal Grande

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

I stayed here on a romantic New Year's Eve trip to Venice a few years ago, and it was the perfect choice. If you're going to stay on the Grand Canal (and I mean ON the Grand Canal), you might as well stay in a centuries-old palace with fabulously red walls and romantic balconies. Don't even think about leaving without ...

    Foscari Palace

    Hotel Class:
    4
    5 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

This four-star hotel is a really nice, really fancy option that I really appreciated but isn’t quite my style. Its best asset is the amazing location, right on the main canal and easily accessible by water or by foot, but located on its own quiet piazza. No matter what direction you head, you’ll find life, intrigue, and historical monuments. But ...

    Hotel Kette

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    4 reviews
Very Good! - 82% of guests recommend

When I arrived at Hotel Kette, I felt like I’d entered the lobby of a really fancy, foreign office building – or maybe the set of some absurdist film with subtitles or written by Charlie Kaufman. The ceiling was almost comically low, considering the grandiosity of the patterned marble floor and the TWO reception desks flanking the front door (and ...

My wife and I stayed in Venice over Christmas in 2008. For a young couple, winter in Venice is a page straight out of Hemingway. Some days you can climb the Campanile and see all the way to the Alps while on other days the sea closes in and fog descends, wrapping the city in silence. Our time in Venice ...

This British-style hotel overlooking the Lagoon feels like a royal cruise ship from the minute you walk through the lobby, filled with light colors. Even the front desk is fancy, with an artsy etching of old ships in wood. The service is impeccable. A baby grand piano sits among many vases of white orchids adorning rich, wooden tables and plush ...

Very Good! - 80% of guests recommend

Hotel Centauro is centrally located and very close to Plaza San Marco and Rialto Bridge. Its a good 3-star hotel by Venice standards. Rooms are not so big but than again any other comparable hotel for the price range, you are getting a good deal. Venice is expensive tourist town and for a budget traveller to Venice like me, this ...

If it were up to me, I’d have all of my family reunions, bachelorette party getaways, and business meetings at this charming little pensione. It’s right on the waterfront alongside a little canal, and when you’re out front, you can hear water lapping and splashing under the beautiful bridge a few steps away. One of the reasons this hotel would ...

Totally unassuming at first glance, this artsy bed and breakfast is impressive and homey. Though it's a three-story walk-up, you will be surprised at the comfort at the top. What was once a private apartment is now transformed into a creatively decorated space with gorgeous rooms and great attention to detail. Continental breakfast and WiFi included.

Ca' San Giorgio Relais & Suites

    Hotel Class:

Though this hotel is small, it doesn’t feel cramped – instead, it feels like a carefully curated, unpretentious paradise only meant to be enjoyed by a few at a time. The foyer is partly open to the sky and therefore feels like a mini garden, and the reception desk is in a small, but airy room that has the feel ...

This is a basic upscale hotel – everything is nice, clean, attractive, and styled according to Venetian tradition. The triple deluxe suite is decorated in calming blues and creams, and there are pretty light fixtures in the bathroom. A fun bonus is that there’s candy on the pillow when you arrive. Room prices come with breakfast, which is served in ...

This timeless, yet modern-feeling hotel is right off of Campo S. Maruizio (a quiet little piazza anchored by the Museo della Musica at Chiesa di San Maurizia). Two words: Canopy bed. As though Venice isn’t romantic enough all on its own, Dei Sospiri feels like it was built expressly to be a lover’s getaway (though the big suite-style rooms would also be good for families, I suspect). There aren’t even common spaces here – you either have your breakfast brought to your room, where you eat at ...
