If you have read Thomas Mann novel ' death in Venice' you will fully understand the atmosphere of the story going to this gorgeous hotel. Situated along the sea in Lido of Venice Island, this hotel has a large patio and is completely surrounded by trees and vegetation. It has a direct access to the beach , organized in very ...

    Hotel Mignon

Mignon is small and simple, but super friendly and charming. The location is fantastic – very close to lots of shopping and one of the cheapest pizza places I’ve seen on a main drag, and yet tucked away enough that it feels quiet and secluded. (In fact, the hotel calls itself the quietest in town.) This hotel is the perfect ...

To be clear, this is not a hotel, it is an apartment rental residence. You may rent an apartment for a minimum of two nights. If you like using your own food and maybe are traveling with family, this is the perfect spot for you. Minutes away from San Marco and other main attractions. Great shopping too in this area. ...

We have only eaten at the restaurant of this hotel which is one of the two Michelin starred restaurants in Venice. It’s very tiny, six tables, and the décor is very red. We start with a water menu and are each poured a glass of prosecco. The dinner menu has 3 tasting menus consisting of either 17, 11 or 5 ...

Staying at this hotel was a nice chance of pace during my last European trip. The hotel had a homey feeling since it was a small hotel and run by a small staff. If you every stay here (or any other older hotel in Europe for that matter), be prepared to carry your belongings as they do not have a ...

This place was enchanting. You arrived by boat from the airport and entered from the canal. After that you would use the door that led to the square to walk and explore the area. Each room was a bit different and it had been created from two buildings, so the 2nd floor was at two different levels with a few ...

Something about this hotel reminds me of the nicer dorms I saw when checking out colleges so many years ago. It’s that feeling of communality, convenience, utility, and no-frills attractiveness that I remember from newer buildings at UCSB and UC Santa Cruz. There are vending machines and menus for nearby restaurants in the lobby, a couple dining rooms that can ...

    Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo

The hotel is a small boutique hotel. Just off the Grand Canal behind San Stae church. It is in the Santa Croce sestieri or district of Venice, which is not a major tourist area but it is close to Rialto Bridge and access to the Grand Canal makes everything else within quick reach. We had a junior suite and a ...

This hotel oozes elegance. The service is very attentive, and the rooms are gorgeously decorated. It makes one feel like high society to stay here. Nice lounge areas downstairs, as well as the breakfast room and tea room. Piazza San Marco is only a 2 min walk away, as well as all the other must-sees. The en-suite rooms ( Fenice, ...

Best Western Premier Hotel Sant' Elena

    Hotel Class:

The Sant'Elena is impressive in many ways. An unassuming façade reveals that this was once built as not a hotel, but a convent. The modern, luxurious interior brings to mind a boutique hotel, and the location is super peaceful, away from the commercial hustle of San Marco. This would make a great place to stay for the Lido Film Festival ...

This hotel sits right alongside a charming little canal between two even more charming little bridges, making my arrival feel like some romantic Venetian vacation movie. Inside, everything is clean, modern, light, and simple. There’s no 18th century “Venetian Style” bombast or overwhelming Murano glass lamps screaming “Look at me! I’m Venetian!” Instead, the design leans more towards art deco, ...

This is the ideal place to host workshops in Venice. In fact, it might be the only place that’s so naturally suited for hosting big groups – especially students who are willing to share rooms. The staff is friendly and flexible (for instance, letting me choose how many beds I need in each room), and lots of the rooms overlook ...

The view is spectacular! Right in the heart of the canals and action, right on the water, singing gondeleries singing you to sleep. The outside and lobby are just so-so, breakfast is just okay (basic), but the rooms are fantastic! It feels like you are in a movie!

Small place tucked in by a canal a short walk from the main canal in the Dorsoduro area. Rooms were nice and a reasonable size. Breakfast was included and had a range of breads and spreads-- best part was being able to sit out in their private courtyard to enjoy. The staff was helpful and really nice.
