    Hotel Gritti Palace

    Hotel Gritti Palace

    Hotel Class:
    5
    7 reviews

The Hotel Gritti Palance overlooks the Grand Canal. It is set in a palace that was built by a Renaissance doge of Venice. Hemingway stayed here during the 40's and 50's. His preferred suite bears his name to this day and his novel, "Across the River and into the Trees" mentions the palace along with other Venice sights such as ...

I came upon Hotel Danelii by boat at night... It seemed so quiet and mysterious. A scene out of s movie they way your dream about arriving the great city of Venice. At first it seemed too contained to be such a grand hotel. However, I realized the door was set into the beautiful stained glass wall, so I rang ...

    Hotel Il Mercante di Venezia

    Hotel Il Mercante di Venezia

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    3 reviews

Cannaregio is a great place to explore if you're staying in Venice. The Il Mercante is a simple hotel, but with all the things needed for a short stay in Venice. Rooms were clean and nicely decorated, but no elevator and the breakfast room is in another building. If you are only staying one or two nights it's ok but ...

    Hotel Silva Ariel

    Hotel Silva Ariel

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    3 reviews

Walking distance from the train, this is a cute little bed and breakfast in Cannaregio, the old Jewish Ghetto of Venice. Rooms are very small and few, but well-maintained. Today, the main street, Strada Nuova, is a bustling shopping area. Calle della Masena is right off of this thoroughfare, so you will find great restaurants and shops close by. Try ...

    Alloggi Agli Artisti

    Alloggi Agli Artisti

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    2 reviews

Though it looks small from the front, this hotel is actually gigantic inside, for Venice. Rooms are very modern, simple and clean. Breakfast is included. WiFi also. Overall it was convenient, since close to the train (one block away) and a little noisy in the early morning but this is a good wake-up call to go see the sights!

    Locanda Silva

    Locanda Silva

    Hotel Class:
    3.5
    3 reviews

The hotel is on a quiet canal right around the corner from a more busy hotel area, so in terms of location I thought it was perfect. The rooms were very simple and the service was not as friendly as hoped for, but breakfast was tasty. If you want to be near all the action but not pay an arm ...

    Alloggi Gerotto Calderan

    3.5

If you are a young (or youngish, or young at heart) person coming to Venice for the first time with friends, I would highly suggest staying here. The hotel is off a piazza and off Strada Nuova, a bustling thoroughfare which runs through what used to be the Jewish Ghetto of Venice. A nice touch is that here you get ...

    Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

    Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

    Hotel Class:
    4.5
    8 reviews

If you have been saving up your Hilton Hhonors points, this is the place to spend them! At rates that average around $400 U.S. PER NIGHT, this place is far from a bargain. But, it's an American style, comfortable hotel in Italy. The hotel itself is located on an island across from the main section of Venice, but the hotel ...

The Westin Hotel Europa & Regina, Venice

The Westin Hotel Europa & Regina, Venice

    Hotel Class:
    4
    9 reviews

Wow, this place is so NOT worth the cost of a 5 star hotel. We used Starwood points to stay here (thank god) because aside from an elegant interior, this place is the worst. It's located in a hard to find spot -- off a courtyard that has nothing in it (feels like a dead-end). The staff was rude and ...

    Ca' Pisani Hotel

    Ca' Pisani Hotel

    Hotel Class:
    5
    5 reviews

This is a fantastic little gem of a hotel, located right near the Peggy and the accadamia bridge. A design-oriented hotel, ca'pisani is modern by Venetian standards, but not obnoxiously so. I loved the steam shower in my bathroom and my giant bed was just heaven. What made me really love ca'pisani had more to do with the genuine warmth ...

With unrivalled views across the Grand Canal and over St Mark's Square, Centurion Palace in Venice, Italy, started out in life as a monastery. Hotel Excelsior - Venice Lido Resort

Hotel Excelsior - Venice Lido Resort

    Hotel Class:

    5 reviews

Larger than life is the best way to describe the Excelsior. There is a mini shopping mall in the underground level. Looks like it could be used as a setting a film or music video. A private gondola can take you from the airport or from points in Venice, down a small canal built especially for the Excelsior. The decor ...

    Hotel Al Sole

    Hotel Class:

Though it was pouring rain when I got there, it was so welcoming in there that I felt better as soon as i got inside. It felt like I was somehow entering into old Venice without being in a museum - the history is a natural part of it. Even the furniture in parts of the hotel seemed as old ...

A luxurious palace off Strada Nuova, with a gargantuan fresco on the way to the piano nobile, or second floor. Rooms are also enormous. Fit for a special occasion or if you just have money to burn. Relax on the piano nobile or on the back restaurant terrace and admire the boats going by on the Grand Canal.

Exceptionally fashionable part of town: on the "Designer Row" of Venice, this nautical-themed hotel is original and classic. If you like shopping this is definitely the right street for you. A hotel with a legendary name, the Bauer Il Palazzo is the quintessential luxury tourist hotel of Venice, and the only one with such a legacy started by a female hotelier. The service is serious and rock solid. The history of the architecture is interesting, because one side is modern and the other one is typical Venetian palazzo style. Across ...

    Hotel Concordia

    Hotel Class:

With some rooms overlooking the Basilica San Marco, this Old-World Venetian hotel is exquisitely decorated. Rooms are decadent. The lounge area is very classy and it feels like stepping onto a cruise ship. Dark wood paneling throughout the lobby and a nice snack bar. If you want to be impressed, this is definitely the right place to stay.

The gorgeous restaurant in this hotel - which is part cavern, part rainforest, part garden, and all luxury – is reason enough to stay here. (It also has gluten-free options, which is rare in this country.) It’s the first thing you see when coming through the revolving door (which has a glass sculpture at its nexus), right behind an opulent ...

    Palazzo Sant'Angelo sul Canal Grande

Oh, Palazzo Angelo. It’s so hard to find by foot (find Corte Del Albero, then head towards the water), but it’s so worth it. (I bet it would’ve been easy if I’d just taken the boat from the airport to the private dock, or even the orange line public transport that drops off just outside the door, but c’est la ...
