    Paradiso Perduto

    2 reviews

What used to be a horse stable in Napoleonic times is today a swinging, happening place. Owner Maurizio Adamo has been owner for 35 years. Discover an abundance of typical Venetian food and wine right on the bank of a canal, in the heart of Cannaregio. Every Monday night there is live music, usually excellent local bands.

    Acqua Pazza

Great place to dine under the stars in Venice; serves Neapolitan food with emphasis on seafood. Crowded so you must reserve in advance or go very late (11:00pm).

    Trattoria Antiche Carampane

    1 review

One of my favorite restaurants on earth. This welcoming, family run place serves out-of-this-world fresh seafood and Venetian classics in simple, elegant surroundings--not far from the Rialto market. Be sure to reserve well in advance, as it's a small dining room, and very popular with locals and travelers.

    Acqua e Mais

    1 review

The best fried calamari and frutti di mare in town. The name comes from the main ingredients of their polenta: water and flour. Order a "cartoccio di gamberi e calamari." Light and delicious. Also try the chiccheti: sarde in saor, baccalà mantecato, insalata d'orzo, verdure e gamberi, and the artichokes. Simply divine!

    Bacaro Risorto

    1 review

Bacaro Risorto invites you in with its pleasant music and buzzing atmosphere. But once you try the food you are hooked. A must-try are little open-faced sandwiches with gorgonzola, walnuts and cream of vinegar. Also the fried mozzarella with anchovies or prosciutto and the polpete (meatballs) carne e formaggio.

    Birreria Zanon

    1 review

Part cicchetteria, part bierhalle, this is a gem of a snack bar in Cannaregio. The staff are young and friendly, and the setup is more biergarten than Venetian, with wooden tables and benches and a flatscreen TV. Prices are totally reasonable. Try the cicchetti with gamberetti (shrimp). The hearty tramezzini here are made with dark, German-style bread instead of white. ...

Snack la Palanca - Barina Andrea Salmaso Pietro S. N. C.

    1 review

This bar is steps away from the vaporetto stop Palanca, which bears its name. It's literally like its own stop in a way, because there's always company to stop for. The owner Piero is a local, super friendly. He will sit with you and tell you the history of Giudecca, of how it was once a very poor, undesirable industrial ...

    Parco Delle Rose

    1 review

Strolling down the main drag of Lido, you feel immediately drawn in by a wafting scent of wisteria, then you see that the whole restaurant is covered in a canopy of it. Very romantic. Excellent food and service.

A great place for breakfast, lunch or an evening apéritif. Located on a quiet courtyard with plenty of space for children to play and dogs to roam, there is a fresh, fun atmosphere around Food & Art Judecca. Also a student lunch cafeteria, the food is delicious and gourmet. Here you will find a familiar, local atmosphere mixed with artsy ...

    Osteria La Patatina

    2 reviews

Cute and cozy restaurant with a cute name: the little potato. Very pleasant atmosphere. If you walk by too fast you might miss it. Try the typical Venetian spread: sardo in saor, baccalà and gamberetti. Owners are locals and local regulars frequent the place.

    Bar Sestante

    1 review

Modern and chic, this new snack bar offers classic delights and steps away from the main vaporetto stops at San Zaccaria. If you're looking for a quick fix or to dodge the crowds for a bit, this is the perfect little hideout. Flatscreen TV and plenty of space.
