    Gelateria Nico

Fondamenta Zattere al Ponte Longo 922, 30121 Venice, Italy

This place is great because of its location-- right along the edge of the water. Picked up the Gianduiotto, which was what everyone else in the gelateria seemed to be having: Giandula (a block of chocolate gelato) + whipped cream and a waffle. It costs more if you eat in, rather than get it to-go (they charge €1 for service), ...

A nice little spot to stop of coffee and a pastry. We tried Chocolate with Grappa, which was insane, but definitely something to try once.

We came upon the Caffe die Frari by luck. The timing was good, we were in need of a snack, a cafe, and a break from the cold. Sandwiches, pizzas, coffees and whisky (yes that's what I got with my coffee…to stay warm) are on offered here. The upstairs tea room is cozy and comfortable.
