The Venice Canals are on of la's best kept and most surprising secrets. The area around the canals is largely residential, but you can still explore on foot.

The canals are beautiful; what a wonderful hidden gem in Venice! If you're grabbing a meal along Abbot Kinney, you can get here by walking about a mile. Walk along the path and across the bridges...it's like a maze. You may find the occasional resident in a canoe on the water too.

One of Venice's hidden gems - very few tourists know about the canals, with their arched bridges and flower lined paths. Jim Morrison used to live here. A great place to take a stroll and check out one of LA's coolest neighborhoods.

We stayed for a couple of days at the Inn at Venice Beach. On the short walk to the beach we passed the Venice Canals. In my opinion not a Must See, but nice to See.

A very nice and romantic place to visit. Street parking can be difficult, depending on what time you're going. But it's not that bad! You can walk around and check out the canals and walk over the bridge. You can also see the duckies playing around. If you keep walking a few more minutes, you hit Venice Beach! So overall, a great place to take that special someone!

Venice's original 16 miles of canals have been reduced to an affluent grid bounded by South Venice Boulevard and Ocean Avenue, 28th Avenue and Pacific Avenue. When you become bored with the Boardwalk, a trip to the canals will be soothing.

One of hidden gem in Venice, sure everyone knows about the famous Venice Beach. But this one often overlook and only local knows it. Next time when you in Venice Beach, this is worth to check it out ! Nice canal and million dollar house.

Kids and adults would love walking along the canals, seeing the ducks, peeping into homes and trotting over the bridges. A lovely neighborhood for a sunday morning walk.

This is a small area of Venice but a great place to wander around. In our case, we rented bicycles and cycled around which means you cannot go everywhere because cycles are banned from some of the small roads. Many of the houses on the canals looked very fancy.

It's a very beautiful place in LA but besides walking through the canals there isn't much else to do that's super close.

You need a place to relax, read a great book, write a poem, or just realize how good we have it in Los Angeles, this is the place to see. The views you have the opportunity to enjoy can be breathtaking, from the canals themselves, the bridges you can stand in awe, to the passing of the ducks. If you have a house along this route you get to enjoy this every morning with a cup of coffee and a great book. Depending on the day, when the sun hits the water you get a spectacular look at the canals as the sun beams off the water. This place is a must visit, and well worth making the time to enjoy.

Nice Stroll. See the interesting houses on the canals and the bridges that Abbot Kinney created in 1925.

Of course this gets a high rating because your cottage is right next to Grand Canal. We have 2 boats you can take out; grab a bottle of champagne & some glasses and canoe around the canals- you won't get stopped by the cops!!!! The most charming little secret in all of LA- guarantee you will love it. Bring some bread for the ducks!!

A hidden treasure in Venice, CA with beautiful houses all around it. It's a nice place to take a walk. If you plan coming here on the weekends, parking can be a hassle but on the weekdays it will be easier and the whole experience much more enjoyable :)

Originally the canals were meant to be an amusement park resembling Venice, Italy. Today it sort of resembles a cross between a wealthy residential neighborhood, a park and a historical monument.

The canals are great to explore on foot and I consider them to be one of Venice's most interesting attractions. There's a lot of great architecture and the reflection off of the water makes for a lot of great photo opportunities.

A nice break from the rest of LA/Venice Beach. Didn't realize there were actual canals here until I stumbled across it! Small though, good for a walk
