If you really want to get away from it all, but don't want to rough it too badly (or, on the opposite end of the spectrum, pay for unnecessary luxuries), this little hotel is the sweet spot. It's the only one on the wild east coast of Cozumel, and it runs entirely on wind turbines. Which means it's, um, often windy. The rooms are huge and sensible--not fancy, but just what you need. There's a beach just north of the hotel (although it's often too windy to really swim). Breakfast is great. I often fantasize about buying a bunch of groceries and staying here for a week. But so far I've only had time to stay here for a couple nights at a time--but that's still enough to feel like I've unplugged.Recommended for:
