    Mission San Buenaventura

    7 reviews

Not really much to see. This is one of the smaller missions that I've been to. If you're on a mission (pun intended) to see all the missions. Then you will want to stop here. Otherwise, the one in Santa Barbara is better.

    Golf N' Stuff

    5 reviews

This classic Southwest American mini amusement park chain (featured in the first Karate Kid movie) was a major weekend and summer destination for many kids growing up in the '80s - and is still now a fun, albeit nostalgic, place to while away an afternoon, host a kid's birthday party, or just recapture some of your not-so-long-lost youth. Attractions include ...

    Channel Islands National Park

    3 reviews

I really enjoyed visiting some of the Channel Islands during a high school field trip. The boat ride out there was a little rocky, but the views were impressive. We saw many seals on the short ride, and the weather was just right. We went to a very desolate island, but there were many trails, camping, picnic tables and phenomenal ...

    Surfers Point Park

    2 reviews

This surf spot is known as C-Street and it's a very good wave mostly right hand, super user friendly, great for longboards and short boards as well. The wave is long and fun with big crowds on good days.

    Museum Of Ventura County

    2 reviews

The Museum of Ventura County first opened in 1913 in the newly built Ventura County Courthouse (now Ventura City Hall). Soon known as the Pioneer Museum, its collections of artifacts and curios were the legacy of Dr. Cephas Bard, a Pennsylvania doctor who came to Ventura after the Civil War. A compassionate man with wide-ranging interests, Dr. Bard accepted historical ...

    The Majestic Ventura Theater

    1 review

Aptly named, the Majestic Ventura Theater is gorgeous: red carpet, tall ceilings, ornamented walls, and a balcony. It's also a major stop for touring acts, including local big-names like Yellowcard and Army of Freshman and national acts like Blondie and the Violent Femmes. If you have a chance to see a show here, take it. But drink across the street ...

    Marina Park

    1 review

Marina Park is a quiet sanctuary by the beach. In its center rests an elaborate playground, where I saw a little girl glide across slide bars. Behind her set the sun, blinding eyes with bursting golden light. And I imagine she felt completely free, if only for a few seconds... and that is the greatest feeling in the world.

    Sans Souci Cocktail Lounge

    1 review

This tiny bar and music venue has long been a local favorite as well as a natural stop for people coming to or from shows across the street at Ventura Theater. Beer is cold, drinks are strong, and lots of 20-something locals gather together on the outdoor patio.
