    Trapp Family Lodge

    Trapp Family Lodge

    11 reviews
Excellent! - 87% of guests recommend

As Maria sang in ‘The Sound of Music’, “high on a hill was a lonely goatherd.” The Trapp Family Lodge has an amazing location high on the mountain, with stunning mountain vistas from the guestrooms and public areas of the lodge. The lodge and surrounding resort is pretty extensive, so there’s not much chance of a goatherd getting too lonely.

    Green Mountain Inn

    Class:
    5 reviews
Excellent! - 92% of guests recommend

I didn't stay here but I stopped in with some family at the Whip bar and grill downstairs for some drinks and PEI mussels. The Christmas tree in the main staircase and the pine garland were Dickensian and welcoming.

Mountain Green Ski & Golf Resort

Mountain Green Ski & Golf Resort

    4 reviews
Mediocre - 69% of guests recommend

This hotel really has everything to offer in one convenient package. In addition to being located within easy walking distance to Killington, the Mountain Green has an on-site ski rental and sporting goods shop, as well as a deli/convenient store, gift shop, and restaurant with live music. The rooms are more like apartments, fully furnished, and each with pullout sofas. ...

    Ye Olde England Inne

    Class:
    4 reviews
Good! - 78% of guests recommend

Ye Olde England Inne has a quirky charm all its own, from the gold lions flanking the entryway to the refurbished Britishness of the restaurant and bar. The main building was built in 1830, and a large extension was built in the 1990s. Thirty rooms are spread across the buildings, each decorated with its own style. The Plymouth Suite -- ...

Killington Grand Resort Hotel is owned by the same entity as the Killington mountain ski resort. This sprawling, multi-building hotel is the nearest place you can stay if you want to be right by the ski runs and lifts. Outside the snowy season, the Killington Grand is the closest hotel to mountain biking on the mountain’s trails, as well as ...

    Stowe Motel & Snowdrift

    Stowe Motel & Snowdrift

    Class:
    4 reviews
Excellent! - 89% of guests recommend

Clean, charming, cheerful and – by Stowe standards – really cheap, Stowe Motel & Snowdrift sits at the base of the Stowe Recreation Path. This 5.5-mile paved path connects central Stowe to the Topnotch Resort further up the hill. During the long Vermont winter, the path is groomed for cross-country skiing, and Stowe Motel provides complimentary snowshoes to guests. When ...

    Summit Lodge & Resort

    Summit Lodge & Resort

    Class:
    3 reviews

The Summit Lodge and Resort is my favorite place in Killington. It’s delightfully quirky but also functional, spotlessly clean and luxurious. The Lodge opened in 1960, just a couple years after the ski area was established. The lodge’s 45 rooms are gorgeous, with plush bedding and excellent views over the valley and mountain. Four-poster beds, walk-through closets and rocking chairs ...

    The Mountain Inn

    The Mountain Inn

    Class:
    3 reviews
Fair - 72% of guests recommend

The Mountain Inn has a prime location near the top of Killington Road. From the Inn there are great views to the nearby ski area and runs down Killington Mountain. In comparison to the other large resorts near the ski area, the Mountain Inn has perhaps the most character and coziness. The outdoor heated pool is a real bonus, as ...

    Stone Hill Inn

    Stone Hill Inn

    3 reviews
Excellent! - 100% of guests recommend

It’s nice to be set back from the busy and sometimes noisy Mountain Road through Stowe – this Inn sits nestled in evergreen trees and has a really private feel. The driveway to the inn is unpaved and quite steep – no problem in the winter if you have studded tires and/or four-wheel drive on your vehicle.

Greenbrier Inn is a gorgeous and festive place right on Killington Road. The Inn is set back from the road, tucked in behind the huge Greenbrier gift shop which is a pine-scented emporium of Vermont-related merchandise. North Star Lodge

    3 reviews
Mediocre - 69% of guests recommend

The North Star Lodge may be a bit pricier than some of the motels on the Killington strip, but it is well worth the price. It’s quite near Killington ski resort, and there is a free shuttle to the slopes, as well as the area restaurants. The suites look modern and polished, with a full kitchen and hardwood floors. Stoweflake Mountain Resort & Spa

    Class:
    3 reviews
Very Good! - 83% of guests recommend

Don’t be put off by the atrocious pun – Stoweflake is a great place to stay. Alternatively, you can sweat, stretch or swim around the resort’s award-winning spa. The accommodations are much fancier than you might anticipate from the somewhat mundane exterior of the resort’s buildings. Dogs can stay with you in the resort’s townhouses or ski house.

    Northern Lights Lodge

    Class:

Near the ski areas, accommodation in Stowe can be pretty fancy and pricey. It’s nice to find a warm and welcoming lodge that’s unpretentious and reasonably priced, right near the ski runs. The breakfast buffet at the lodge is massive, and always includes some hot items to warm you up for a day out in the mountains. In the evenings, ...
