Incredible food in a surprisingly relaxed setting. Choose from 6, 9 or 12 courses, and have a chat with them a few days before you arrive to sort out any dietary issues you may have. My nine courses were nearly perfectly pitched, from simple touches like salted caramel butter, to complex combinations. An abundant feeling number of extras were added ...

What a heaven of industrial chic. I had dinner here recently and left oh so satisfied after grilled radicchio followed by calf's liver (order it at least medium) followed by a light, fluffy lemon cheesecake topped with candied lemon peels. Did I say satisfied? More like stuffed, in a really decadent, pleasant way. The atmosphere here is busy and very ...

18/20; Food 9/10, Ambience 4/5, Service 5/5. Casual offshoot of Nuno Mendes' kitchen in the hyper-cool Town Hall Hotel. The same fusion deconstructed ingredients approach as the Michelin starred Viajante downstairs, all to delicious effect. Gorgeously presented dishes on the compact menu vary often, with creative and unusual combinations that all seem to work really well. The added bonus that ...

The chef is Portuguese and the name means voyager in Portuguese but the menu defies classification. Extremely innovative and surprising, delightful mouthfuls make up the tasting menu. A meal is a voyage of taste. Located in Town Hall Hotel near Bethnal Green, the restaurant is a bit out of the usual visitors centres but well worth the effort to get ...

The salt beef beigel might be the cheapest meal in London - at least at 3 a.m., when you'll be buying it as a token gesture of appreciation to your liver after a night out. Everyone has a favorite shop (the white or the yellow), so you'll have to have two for a taste test. The salmon-cream-cheese is also decent. ...

This is one of my fail-safe place to go in London. All through summer 2012 the brewery held massive parties in its adjoining venue, The Brewhouse - there was bands, DJs, BBQ, loads of beer, and Pimms for the ladies - literally a piss up in a brewery. The Tap Bar opened in time for winter, in the same space ...

First went there with several friends and I have been going back a few times since whenever I want India food. It is not very traditional, which is probably why I like it, and the food tastes simply delicious. They offer a huge variety of grilled and curry dishes and Biryani. I especially like the lamb kabab, paneer Tikka and ...

    Kahaila

Kahaila is a very beautiful, light-filled café on Brick Lane - actually, you quite forget you're on Brick Lane inside because it's relatively calm and quiet. Really good sandwiches and coffee, and free WiFi, so the mood inside is half-social and half-working creatives. Somewhat unusually, the café is actually part of a Christian organisation, but it doesn't advertise this anywhere ...

Brilliant little pub steeped in history and was previously owned by the Kray twins. Small dogs are welcome. There's a lovely fire and a sheltered outside section round the back and most importantly it has a fantastic selection of global beers. If you're eating make sure to try the amazing scotch egg!

Fantastic new addition to the Barrio family on Shoreditch High Street. This place is a kickass restaurant, cocktail lounge and cantina (club) all rolled into one. This adorable American diner isn't a chain, nor is it a diner. The Love Shake is a milkshake, hotdog and bourbon joint. It's an intimate space with limited seating, warm lighting and the friendliest of staff. The prices are excellent (£2.50 hotdogs) and the wifi is of course free. I'd easily spend all day in here working (and have done) ...

The Lucky Chip is a great example of London's American fast food mania, circa 2013. The humble hamburger is the dish of the moment, with high quality hawkers tucked into many neighborhoods, and here's one of the city's best. Lucky Chip got its start in Netil Market and is now slinging its delicious burgers in residence at the Sebright Arms ...

A Peruvian restaurant that just opened in Shoreditch. I went there for Sunday brunch once and it is instantly my favorite restaurant. Old fashioned Pie and Mash shop situated in a market in Hackney. Worth making a trip to these as there aren't many left in London. Bit of a wait for service when I went but this was due to the fact they were waiting for the pies to come out of the oven. Well worth the wait though.
