This is National Park Service’s part unit. This a long walk from the disability parking location near the Korean Memorial. There is the wall when leave the wall there will be two statues that are also part of this Memorial.

Sobering and very impressive. The names look so stark carved into black stone. And the sight of people, friends and family members no doubt, making pencil impressions of the lost soldiers names. I went when the memorial first opened and at the time it was very emotional for the visitors, I imagine it still has a powerful impact today.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is one of America's most stark and thought provoking. Built during the 1980's the monument is most known for its reflective black stone and the names of the war dead etched into sides. The length and breadth of over 50,000 names brings home the war's human cost, as does the occasional sight of surviving veterans and family members looking up their loved ones.

Visiting this memorial is a powerful experience, even if you don't expect it. Very solemn and meaningful. Don't miss it.

The wall was filled with a lot of visitors and tourists. This is a free attraction and seeing a reflection of yourself against the black wall filled with soldiers' names who died in battle brings such sad sorrow. It is a great tribute to those who served in the Vietnam War.

Simple but incredibly powerful. As you walk along the wall, reading the names of people you have never met, the enormity of the sacrifice that took place becomes so much more real than what you see in movies or read in history books. An absolute must see!

The history behind the making of this memorial is fascinating, and I am always in awe each time I visit this spot at how such a powerful message can be conveyed through such simple architecture. Among the more elaborate monuments on the Washington Mall, the Vietnam Memorial is certainly not one to miss. Stop by between a trip to the WWII and Lincoln memorial.

The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a simple yet powerful and moving monument. The memorial is marked by a wall to commemorate those who died or became missing in action during the war. There are 58,175 names on the wall and was designed by architect Maya Lin.

Looks so small in pictures, but it's pretty big when you're up close to it. And it's surreal reading the names of all those who died while serving.

An epic and moving tribute to the many who gave their lives in the Vietnam War. The wall is not ornate or grand, but it is a beautiful tribute and everyone should visit. Be sure to stop by the other Vietnam Memorial statues nearby, as well!
