Villa Escudero is a nice resort located on a working plantation. I stayed here for a few days while traveling with a group of other students during a study abroad trip. The resort is very senic and calm. It is a nice place to escape the business and noise if the city. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served buffet style in the eating area which is located by a small river and man made waterfall. I got a chance to eat at the tables located at the base of the waterfall, and you can feel the rush of water run through your feet as you enjoy your meal. While I stayed here, I was able to ride in a kalesa and actually sit on a caribou!
The rooms were nice, simple, and were 2 levels. The bottom level had a bed (with a mosquito net draped above it) and the restroom, and the 2nd level was a small loft. I shared the room with 3 others and slept on the floor in the loft (a small mat was already provided). My only gripe about staying here was the bugs, espcially the mosquitos which I gots some bites from, but it's all part of the experience. I hope to visit here again one day.Recommended for:
