Kenneth Village is not much of a village - it's a one block strip of various shops, cafes, and a random travel agency and architectural firm. But it's well worth visiting just for Village French Bakery, a small cafe with extremely affordable and delicious pastries. Dare I say their baked goods are just as good as the ones I've had in Paris?
We tried an almond croissant (Omigod. Soft and flaky with a ton of almond creme inside), a chocolate mousse (My favorite of the bunch. Light but rich, it's the perfect dessert), a lemon tart (VERY tart), and a macaron (not my favorite, but still delicious). Everything was around $2-$3. I can't wait to go back for more, mainly to try their loaves of bread, fruit tarts, plain croissants and, well, everything else they have on their shelves. The crowd is an older, European bunch, and there are a few scattered tables inside. Debit/Credit requires a $10 minimum.Recommended for:
