Lake Louise really doesn't have much of a town so prices are high and selection is limited, but even for this being a smaller market, we found what we needed for a day out hiking. Water, chapstick and a few snacks all seemed overpriced but did the job!

Aside from the Safeway in Banff, there's not many big grocery stores in this neck of the Canadian Rockies. The Village Market is relatively small, conveniently located in the Samson Mall right off the Trans Canada, and relatively expensive. I have come in here several times, but mostly for "grab and go" stuff. It's what you would expect for a neighbourhood market in the middle of a popular tourist area. So if you have modest expectations, you won't be disappointed.
