Okay, this place is not exclusively gay (not even London is gay enough to have its own gay bakery) but thanks to its location just north of London Fields, this cake shop draws in a gay clientele every day of the week. But the star of the show here is most definitely the cake. The bakers here are seriously taking the art of all things cake to the next level, and I have thoroughly enjoyed every single morsel I have shovelled into my gob at Violet. It also makes a very cute first date place.Recommended for:

For a decadent East London café lunch, luck upon Violet, with its tea, cake
and toastie feel, situated in a quiet residential corner of London Fields. Sit in
the bric-a-brac-style garden flaunting wheelbarrows and crates of apples or
from downstairs view the bakery in full-swirl, with stylish Dalston-ites creating
cinnamon whirls and piping fresh butter cream onto an avalanche of the miniature cupcakes that the café is famous for. A small bag of sugared violets seals the quaint gastronomical deal.Recommended for:
