I'm not familiar with the program in particular, but the Bahamas is a pleasant country to travel in, and for the most part very safe. In general, I'd suggest avoiding any program based out of larger city centers as crime can be an issue there. However, most of the country is rural and the people are friendly and easy-going. I imagine they'd be great to work with, particularly if you focused on something that really interests them - like their fisheries. One of my favorite islands is Eleuthera. It's a long & skinny slice of paradise, surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters on all sides!

Hey there, I haven't done that program, but it's a reputable program in itself...if you're interested in that kind of travel with a purpose, you could also look into Peace Corps or Wwoofing (willing workers on organic farms). Peace Corps would be more leadership/citizienship orientated, so maybe more up your alley. Also, People to People is for younger students. I hope that's helpful - good luck!.Comment.over 1 year ago.
