Stepping inside the W Downtown you immediately know you are in a W property. Dark, carved wood panels welcome you into the space while contrasting the glass and metallic exterior. Unique to the W brand, this hotel was designed from the beginning with the intention of being a W. “Urban Canopy” was the inspiration for the design team and was uniquely approached. Silver pieces hang from the ceiling of the lobby mimicking a canopy of natural foliage. Guest rooms have a very sensual feel with upscale accents and gorgeous bathrooms. You will find mostly business guests during this week, but the weekends spring life into the hotel’s three bars. With a famed mixologist on staff and true crafted cocktails, you are sure to find the perfect beverage. The gorgeous pool deck has some amazing views of the city. The BLT restaurant handles all of the food for the hotel including room service. This is a true urban oasis in the heart of Downtown Atlanta.Recommended for:

The W Downtown is on a busy stretch in the city. It's just a block or so away from the Civic Center Marta station. This W fits in with the hotel's brand of chic and modern decor. This location includes a trendy bar called the Drinkshop, which is a great spot to take a business meeting or catch up with friends before going out for a night on the town. One thing I liked about this location is that the lobby was more lowkey than some of the others I've been to and the access to going up into the main hotel where the rooms are located seemed more secluded from the rest of the goings on in the hotel. Parking in the area can be hectic but the W offers parking and there are several parking garages nearby as well as restaurants.Recommended for:

There are just so many reasons to love the W Atlanta –Downtown: the luxurious rooms with rich, dark textiles, the rooftop pool/WETBAR with spectacular views of downtown, Bliss Spa (I mean, enough said, right?). But, it’s the little things that make the W Atlanta—Downtown one of my favorite hotels in the city like their high-tech concierge service—you can make reservations and snag tickets to the best concerts all in one place, the WiFi network that is not only available everywhere in the hotel but also within a two and a half mile radius of the property, the craft cocktails with ingredients picked right from their rooftop garden, and the helipad. Ok, so maybe that last one isn’t a little thing. But my favorite thing about this W has nothing to do with the hotel itself—but with its absolutely superlative staff. Every time I have visited I watch them treat each and every guest like a rock star. Beyond everything else, that is what puts the W Atlanta –Downtown into a league all its own.Recommended for:

I’m willing to be that there’s not a more trendy hotel in downtown Atlanta than the W. I don’t know if I’ve seen a more modern hotel –it’s very new and sleek, you definitely feel special when you visit. It gives an incredible first impression: when you walk in, the automatic doors open to a view of the W logo lit and carved out of wood. The lobby is just big enough, with art fixtures that hang from the ceiling and a small bar that gives a city street view.
One of the coolest parts of the hotel was the pool – it’s on the 16th floor and has an outdoor view of the city, and it’s heated so you can still use it in cooler weather. It was probably the highlight of my visit.
A lot of people might not realize that the downtown W is actually the building with the giant digital billboard that overlooks busy I-75 downtown; kind of a neat detail. While you’re visiting, you’re just a short walk from Olympic Centennial Park and the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coke museumRecommended for:
