There’s no way around it—the W Midtown is straight up cool from the ultra modern (yet surprisingly comfortable) furniture in the Living Room, to the chic rooms and suites with plush down comforters on the beds and toiletries from the Bliss Spa in the bathrooms. I loved the WET deck—the W’s pool—which has plenty of comfy lounge chairs and cabanas with TVs inside—all with poolside service, of course. On Sundays in the summertime there will be a DJ out there playing mellow music while you enjoy the sun. Also on the weekends, Whiskey Park, a club inside the hotel opens up and some really killer local DJs and national talent have been known to show up. This is also the only W hotel in Atlanta that has a store inside—and I couldn’t bear to look inside for long because some of the clothing and gifts I saw were dangerously cute. I know they will be redoing their gym area, SWEAT, but for now they have plenty of weights and machines to keep you busy before a treatment at the Bliss Spa (and you HAVE to get a treatment while you’re there). Spice Market, the hotel restaurant serves Asian-Thai style fare, but if you’re in the mood for something else the hotel is in the middle of Midtown with loads of options within walking distance. Then again, at a hotel this happening, you’re just as likely to have a good time without even stepping out the door.

Designers approached the W Midtown with a “Techno-Glam” theme, which is visible in every turn. The signature “W” greets you etched in the glass and the customized morning/afternoon elevator mats letting you know that you are, indeed, stepping into the wow experience of the W hotel family. One of my favorite parts of any W hotel experience is the individuality. This hotel was designed to be a party-centric location. There are 3 Levels of partying: the hotel lobby bar, Spice Market restaurant, and finally Whiskey Park lounge. This location is surprisingly quiet during the week. The lobby is filled with mostly business men/women and consultants conducting small meetings in a quiet corner. The weekend crowd comes to life and the entire atmosphere changes quickly. Rates are surprisingly less on weekends. The location and ambience are great for a wild weekend in the city, and a quiet and chic business destination during the week.Recommended for:Business Travelers

I loved this place. All the trappings of a typical W and a really good location. Didn't try the restaurant, but did get room service from the place and the food was fantastic. I also spent some time at the bar and that was a fun place to hang out. Definitely high on my list of Atlanta places.

I have stayed in the W Hotel Midtown at least once a year since they opened back in 2008. Every time I stay, I've always had an amazing experience. They can typically give upgrades, the staff is pretty stellar, and the location is in the heart of the city. With the three bars inside, you could have a great time just staying in the hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here if you swing through Atlanta!!!
