A trully beautiful and modern hotel located just by the beach (and next to Potato Head). Can easily spend the whole day in the hotel chilling around, afternoon tea, swim even night drinks at the Woo Bar. If you get an ocean view suit, it's the best view to see the sunset.Recommended for:

The W Bali oozes luxury, chic culture and hipness in every detail. The massive grounds are a world unto itself and the lower levels of the main hotel resemble a nightclub and 24-hour beach party more than they do a traditionally lobby. It's as if the very best of South Beach Miami's beach scene was dropped here on the Balinese coast. Problem is, with me, that's not why I came to Bali. Don't get me wrong, I'm all about the luxury and pampering part - and I do appreciate the modernness and refreshing art at every turn. But I don't feel like I'm in Bali here. That might be OK if I lived in southeast Asia or Australia, but after the plane ride required to get here from the US, I want to feel like I'm in Indonesia, not a manufactured playground for fantastically wealthy adults. All that being said, there is otherwise nothing to complain about this place. It is damn near perfect. The rooms include every detail, perk and comfort you could possibly imagine. Everything is inviting, friendly and wonderfully colorful and modern. The top floor rooms have electronically sliding sky lights in the bathrooms. The swimming pool complex is more magnificent than any you'd see at Disney. The sunsets are to die for. It is heaven, but it is not Bali.Recommended for:

Modern style, a hip scene and every luxurioius convenience you could imagine. The W Bali feels like a spaceship from South Beach Miami landed on the beach in Seminyak. The expansive pool and bar areas are a literal playground for trendy adults, and the rooms cater to fresh, fun styles and a pampering lifestyle. Way more amenities, room touches, options and delicious snacks than you'll find in most Bali resorts. The W is also very close to both the Potato Head Resort and Ku De Ta, offering other fun party venues to trek off to in case you begin to feel to locked down at the W. But that's not likely, this is one of the biggest beachfront properties I have ever seen. Pure fun.Recommended for:

Stunning, contemporary place with excellent service and most beautiful pool designed like rice terraces. Everything is top notch here, rooms, food and the prices too. You can even bring your own helicopter.

Wonderful stay in W Seminyak. Hip hotel with plenty of of things to do, or to just sit back and relax. Friendly staff and great location. Will come back next time I'm in Bali.Recommended for:

Ever since I read about the opening of the W Bali Seminyak in October 2010, I was determined to stay there. After having already visiting Bali, I knew that the W would really turn up the service and design of this property. I booked a 7 night stay this past December and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. When first entering the hotel property, you follow a relatively narrow stone road and after going through a security checkpoint you come up on a stone W, adorned with flowers and lights. Past that point, you continue on the road with water fountains along the side until you come up to the actual property. There are 2 entrances to the hotel- one for the main property and one for Villa Guests. As soon as you step into the open-concept lobby, you feel like you have entered another sinfully pleasurable world. The open lobby concept makes the hotel seem huge. I was immediately struck by the design elements of the hotel- from the bright color choices, interesting light fixtures and elegant design; I was won over by the hotel immediately. The check in process was very friendly and smooth. Since our room was not yet ready, we headed to one of their restaurants- Starfish Blow for lunch. The restaurant was beautiful with a handful of tables sheltered under a wooden, cocoon type structure. The seats were very plush and comfortable. We opted for a 3 course meal that really hit the spot. After our room was ready, we headed upstairs to find a very comfortable, brightly designed room. The bathrooms are very large with huge showers complete with a sunlight and rain shower. They also have these amazingly designed tubs complete with Bliss bath products. A handful of the rooms have balconies overlooking the pool area which are great to relax on. The beds are very large and comfortable with some of the best bedding I have had the luxury of using. Following our check in, we got changed into our swimwear and headed down to the Away spa for our complimentary foot rubs. The spa is open 24 hours a day and they have a handful of beautiful treatment units. The pools are AH-MAZING! We spent a majority of our stay out by the pools. We read, swam ordered lots of drinks and food. It was quite breathtaking really. Underwater in the pools, they play music you can hear which is really cool. In the evenings, we attended the happy hour with 2-1 drinks and complimentary snack pizzas. We drank while watching the sunset every night- it was so nice. The hotel's other restaurant option is FIRE, which we only ate from their buffet breakfast that was out of this world. So tasty with everything that you could ever want for breakfast. The hotel also has an incredible gym that is very spacious and with brand new equipment. While the hotel's design, amenities and aesthetic are all impeccable, it is the hotel's service that is over the top. Everyone was so extremely friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for a better staff. The only unfortunate thing about this hotel is that while the resort is right next to the beach, the beach is kind of dirty and you cant really go swimming in that part of the ocean. Even though Bali has a handful of fine resort and hotel offerings, the W is one of the best and will provide you with an unforgettable experience.Recommended for:

This place is amazing. My time here was extremely limited but this place easily is in the top 3 of all hotels I've been to. The staff is amazing - they all introduced themselves and most remembered our names, plenty of pool area (with underground music), fantastic restaurants. They really know how to make you feel welcome and all make sure you are having the best time. I can't say enough about this hotel. I am already planning a trip back to Bali so I can spend more time at this hotel.

This resort was almost perfect. We stayed here for 3 nights for a luxurious transition to Bali and to get over jet lag. The staff were great, check in was seamless. We ventured out one afternoon but then decided that staying in the hotel was the most peaceful. Laying around the pool (the water temp was perfect) or at the spa, in the bar or either of the two fantastic full service rest.'s all went well.
A very special thumbs up to Jack the chef at Starfish Bloo who made our trip. My wife was not keen on one of her meals through no fault of the chef, Jack came out and kept having stuff brought out till she found something she liked. Great job Jack!
Only down side was dinner at the Fire (the best steak I have every had and I'v had a few) but we had some issues with critters in the outdoor portion, guess that comes with the territory.
All and all, highly recommended.
