W Barcelona

Rosa Dels Vents, Barcelona, Spain

Drink in hand. Sun is setting over the glittering ocean. Warm breeze and palm trees. On a weekend break from dreary, London, this seems almost dream-like. The location is what makes this place. The service is sub-par and the drinks expensive, but still, definitely worth it to kick your shoes off and breath in the sun and sea while enjoying ...

    Eclipse Bar

    0.1 mi from W Barcelona
    3 reviews

This is a bar that sits atop the W hotel, which is by the beach but a little far off from everything else. It's a nice bar-- kind of clubby, hip. Reminds me of going out to Perch in LA (if you're familiar)... that kind of scene. Sometimes it's free for females, sometimes it's not (more likely if you arrive ...

I saw the Mediterranean for the first time in Barcelona. I was on the overnight train from Granada and as the train was pulling into the station at dawn I looked out the window and saw the sea, flat and grayer than I wanted it to be. After checking into my hotel near Las Ramblas I walked down to the ...

    Columbus Monument

    0.84 mi from W Barcelona
    84 reviews

Okay, we probably could have skipped this, it's essentially just a pillar and statue of Christopher Columbus, but on the other hand, I personally may have been disappointed if we didn't go and see it. I did mean lots of walking for us.

As part of a much longer walk around the pier and surrounding sights, it's not bad but otherwise it's just a mall. Everyone was enthralled with seeing themselves in the mirrored roof, naturally, but after that it's not so impressive.

    Barcelona Beaches

Slick stretches of carefully combed sand, boardwalk beach bars and the sparkling Mediterranean sea have earned Barcelona’s urban beaches their spot among the best in the world. For a pulsing city vibe (not to mention countless wandering beer and massage vendors touting their wares), head to Barceloneta, where the surroundings are far from peaceful but the buzz is contagious. For ...

Lively covered market in the area of 'Little Barcelona', dating back to 1884 but largely rebuilt after extensive damage during the Spanish Civil War in 1939. The place was again re-modelled in 2005. Today's market is an interesting mix of cutting-edge design and tradition. If you're brave enough, try a plate of fried blood with onions at El Bar de ...

The sea is central to Barcelona’s history. Housed in the stunning former royal shipyards at the end of the Ramblas, the Maritime Museum is one of the city’s most compelling presentations of Barcelona’s past. Its centrepiece is a full-size replica of the 16th-century galley of John of Austria, which dominates the cavernous medieval building. Aside from the galley, you’ll find ...

Built inside an old monastery, the architecture of this bar/venue is as interesting as the live music that's played there. Depending on the day, you might here a local rock band, an international jazz trio, or a singer-songwriter, so you should check the calendar to see what's on. Or, if you're willing to wing it, you can always find good ...

I went to this bar for a meetup event. The food was good. The bar was lively but not too packed (this could also be because it was a Thursday night). I liked the atmosphere and overall we had a really good time and a nice night out getting to know some new people.
