Very short stay but the staff was terrific and what you would expect from a W except everything here is shiny new.

    Boston Common

    86 reviews

Boston Common is reputedly one of the oldest parks in America. Located in Beacon Hill it is a centrally located green area which seems to be constantly in use. Like Central Park in New York, it is a haven away from concrete and asphalt.

    Boston Opera House

    0.25 mi from W Boston
    5 reviews

Beautiful theater! It's moderately sized, meaning even in the back you have a decent view, but not so small that it's difficult to get tickets. The inside decoration and detail is so amazing that it can sometimes steal the show!

Love the Blueman Group. Love it. They even change up the show every once in awhile so you can go back.

Citi Performing Arts Center Wang Theatre

    0.05 mi from W Boston
    3 reviews

Great venue! A classic old theatre, complete with marble and gold everywhere. Worth stopping by just to see if you can get a few minutes in the lobby - it's a snapshot of how things used to be done, and it's stunning. Acoustics are great too! For being as large as it is, there's quite an intimate feel.

    Royale Nightclub

As far as clubs go in Boston, Royale is pretty awesome... but that does not mean it measures up to the nightlife in say Miami. With that said, if you want to spend the night dancing your butt off to some great music while in Beantown, Royale is definitely my first choice!

    Rumor / Pasha Entertainment

Maybe I was having a bad night, but I was overall not impressed by Rumor. Sure it's got the basics of most Pasha spots worldwide meaning dance music, a varied crowd and "club chic" decor. Unfortunately with Rumor, I was not impressed by the DJ and I found the crowd to be just not my scene. It still has the ...

    Shear Madness

The comedy show that shares the same theater space as blue man group brings about a whole new approach and flare to audience interactions. Shear Madness gets you involved in a hyper mixture of fantastic performance, injected impromptu humor, and plentifully packed puns about everything in pop culture and everything in Boston, definitely winning the audiences over. And if that's ...

Bijou is a nice size when it comes to clubs. It's small and intimate, which makes drinks and dancing with friends more fun. Drinks are overpriced but that's what to expect in any club. I'd certainly go back.

Cure is one of quite a few clubs to be found near the theater district. I found myself surprised at how much fun I had at Cure. It's a smaller club, but I was loving the music and the comfortable crowd.

I love this venue. It's small and you don't always get the best seat in the house but it also boasts three bars and I like the cozy atmosphere complete with couches and coffee tables for drinks.

I have a love hate affair with transit systems like this. Part of me really likes them, part of me realizes how unconvenient that they can be, and part of me thinks that the price (subsideized and otherwise) are not worth it. I think that the parking situation for some of the stops on this route were beyond atrocious... Seriously ...

    Market

    0.01 mi from W Boston
    1 review

Pretty similar to the usual Fanieul Hall scene, meaning a crowd of people in their 20s, loud music and dance floor. One interesting aspect of Market is its slightly off-the-beaten-path location, which makes Market more for locals rather than tourists. It's right off of a little park area near Central Street.

Metro Boston's premiere shopping street, Newbury is a place that you were going to go anyways (everyone does), but even with the crowds, trash, and tourist hokum, it's still a great place to shop, dine, have a drink or - best of all - people watch. Watch out for the duck boats!

This aquarium has a fantastic set up - the center of the building is comprised of a huge fish tank, which you get to walk up or down via a winding spiral ramp as you check out all the aquatic life (including sharks and the occasional sea turtle) swimming around. Get to the top of the tank and watch the ...
