You can tell it's an older hotel but the rooms are a decent size. The lobby was really busy the whole weekend we were there. The showers in the bathroom are a little funky. There isn't a full door so water gets onto the bathroom floor. That's an issue if you're not smart enough to put a towel down. They have a gym and an indoor pool. There is a great view of the Navy Pier and the lake while you work off the deep dish pizza you ate last night. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Chicago.

Favorite downtown Chicago hotel. If I'm in the Loop, it's the Palmer House. But up here, I love me the W.
Great bar, great lounge upstairs. Nice pool. Perfect W service by staff. Excellent location. Use the concierge desk for all dinner reservations, you never know... might get a comped dessert or round of drinks!
Skip the restaurant. Way better to have any of your meals at one of the joints in town. Chicago is a culinary Mecca, so take advantage before you head back home to your Chili's and Olive Garden date nights.
Then, return to the hoppin' hotel bar and take in the view. Always fun people watching.

This is a great hotel with beautiful views of the Lake and Navy Pier. It can be quite windy because you are by the water but it's a short cab ride from the Loop and Rush Street if you are going to dine at any restaurants there. The restaurant Wave is excellent and the concierge team can recommend some wonderful brunch options if you are there on a Sunday. (love brunch!)

Room-wise, it was fine. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was modern. HOWEVER, as a business hotel, it was really distracting to have so much loud thumping music in the lobby to the point that I could barely hear what the people were saying when I was checking in and out. It's also a bit out of the way. Thankfully we had a rental car. The only nice thing that I appreciated about this W is that there are plenty of restaurants in walking distance.
