W Hollywood is one of my favorite hotels in the country. In fact I have stayed here over 40 times. It's a cool location at Hollywood and Vine right in the middle of the Hollywood walk of fame. It's also convenient to the subway-yes subway in LA. The rooms are good and the beds are great! The lobby bar and restaurant are excellent with a great rooftop pool. It's a great place to stay in Hollywood.

The W Hotel is always a fun pace to stay, lounge at the pool, and enjoy some nightlife after hours. This W Hotel is no exception. Centrally located on Hollywood Blvd, there are plenty of attractions to walk to from here.

Nice rooms, fun atmosphere. Stayed here for work and the hotel restaurant provided a nice meal and pleasant distraction. Great location for those who want to be in the heart of Hollywood.

Convenient location, close to nightlight, the Metro (next door), tourist attractions, and food. I liked the window seat in our room...it was just overlooking a parking lot, not tr city. If you want something to do, Drai's is next door, so it's super convenient to go out for drinks/dance.

I love the lobby...it's big and the red carpet and winding staircase make it very Hollywood.

    #BeOut

We are suckers for any pool with a rooftop view.

    Pool Details:

Address: 6250 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood 90028

    Phone: (323) 798-1300

Weekdays: Dress appropriately, purchase food or drinks, and no one
    will be the wiser.

Weekends: The pool is open to non-guests from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m. with a $20 cover charge. Call ahead to see if there is a party going on, because sometimes the pool area transforms into a Vegas-style club.

Right in the middle of the buzzing revitalized Hollywood, this trendy chain hotel is a cool mod respite for just about everybody: biz travelers, families, younger couples, etc. Valet parking is a breeze and you've got restaurants and shops practically right outside your door at the Hollywood & Highland complex, where the Kodak Theatre is (and also where the Babylon Court frames postcard views of the Hollywood sign on sunny, cloudless days).

The recently opened, ultra-swank W Hotel is home to several upscale dining, club and shopping options, as well as a Metro Station. Indulge in their signature modern bistro Delphine, groove on the rooftop at Drai’s Hollywood, or schmooze in The Living Room, home to fashion trunk shows, wine tastings and film screenings. On a hot day (or warm evening) you can quench your thirst with a tall, cool one at Drai’s Pool Deck.

The definition of a party hotel in Hollywood, this W is one of the places that you go to have a good time, not to get a good rest. While it is on the edge of Hollywood, it is still close enough to everything to have a good time.

Word of warning, the nightclub, Drai's gets loud and busy so you may not be undisturbed if you are in a upper floor.

shiny, a bit too shiny in the lobby. However, pretty relaxing. Nice coffee bar. Not sure I would personally stay here if i was a tourist. I guess its has a good location with the subway right next to it.

I have never stayed at the hotel but been here a couple of times to hangout at the Living Room, NYE Party and to Drais. I am writing this review mainly from the NYE party that I went to recently. I wasn't too happy that our table was in the Delphine area (the outdoor area was much cooler!) But the music I must say was really awesome! Overall I love the hotel ambiance. It is very chic and modern and the waitresses are super hot!

Living Room is a very chill bar to hang out at. I will definitely come back here again :)

Trendy up-market hotel in a slightly dubious but improving area of Hollywood. Has all the usual facilities including roof top bar, gym and nightclub. Little atmosphere unless there's something going on in the lobby and the staff give you the feeling they are only there to get the next tip from you. Wifi charges are per device per day which adds up over a week and valet parking is expensive and slow

If you are going to pay $250 for a Holiday Inn, I would go a little bit higher and pay an extra $100 for the W Hollywood. It is a new hotel (about a year old) and is a W so what else can you ask for?! The service is great, the rooms beautiful and the location is spot on for what you need.

Right in the heart of Hollywood across from The Pantageous is the giant W- you won't miss it. This landmark is a recent development in the otherwise disappointing streets of Hollywood, and is no doubt a hot spot.
Rooms are very Vegas like- contemporary, luxurious, and chic. There is a respectable but expensive restaurant, and Drais, the day and night club on the roof. Think XS but in LA (some nights of the week...). If you want a very Hollywood experience, The W is a good choice.

Modern luxury with a touch of old Hollywood, the W Hollywood is a beautiful monstrosity towering over Sunset Boulevard, above the Hollywood Metro station. If you're driving in, be sure to appreciate the starry-sky effect over the valet-area.

My first impression of the lobby is, "that's so Hollywood"; the red-carpet staircase really dominates the lobby/lounge area. The outdoor lounge area here looks spectacular. Just one floor above Sunset, I imagine it makes for great people-watching over a cocktail or three.

Upstairs, the rooms range from standard to fabulous, though you wouldn't know it based on the names. The fabulous is the name of the standard room, the marvelous is what they call the suites, and the cool corner are the mega-suite, corner rooms). All of the rooms offer modern furnishings in muted colors. My favorite touch? The bedazzled peep holes. Tacky? Maybe. Hilarious? I think so.

Up on the roof, the pool deck and adjoining nightclub/restaurant are about as hip and hollywood as it gets. On the weekends (and during special events) even guests need to make reservations (Yes! You have to make a reservation for the pool). During the week, it offers fantastic 360 views of LA.

The W Hollywood lives up to its location. I was in a so-called “Fabulous” room, which had a great view of the Hollywood sign. They also, I gathered, offer “Wonderful,” “Spectacular,” and “Marvelous” rooms, each in a different layout and style. One hilarious touch: every room’s peephole was encrusted with rhinestones. Welcome to Hollywood. The real gem here is Drais Wet, the rooftop pool/deck/bar complex. You really feel like a celebrity up there, and have a good chance of spotting some relaxing in the poolside cabanas. I guess my room was a smoking room (surprised those even exist anymore) because it stunk of cigs, so be sure to ask for non-smoking if it matters to you. The staff was very helpful, from the desk to the valet. The hotel offers multiple reservation and transportation services, but they were too expensive for me. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but to be honest I prefer a little less glitz and a little more substance.

If you're looking for a "Hollywood Hotel" experience but can't get a reservation at the Standard, the W Hotel will suit you just find.

Close access to clubs, restaurants, shopping, and all things touristy. Walking distance--which is a plus!

The hotel is modern, swanky, and sleek. I'm a fan of their bathrooms but if you're sharing the room and are shy--it may not be your thing :)

Parking is pretty darn steep at $38/night so be prepared.
