The street art event "Revealed" at W LA hosts one Los Angeles street artist each month. The artist takes over the W Living Room and transforms it into their interpretation of LA for one month. Every first Thursday of the month at 6pm. Meet the artist have some drinks and boogie.Recommended for:

We got upgraded to a suite. They have my friend a choice to take a look at a suite with 2 queen beds, but it was handicap-accessible, so the shower was different. We switched to the suite with a king and pull-out sofa bed. Great service, nice rooms, and a fitness center on the 2nd floor (Bliss Spa is on the same floor too). Ahhhh...mini weekend getaway :)Recommended for:

The W Los Angeles Westwood is part of the highly reputable chain of 4/5 star hotels that service cities throughout the United States and the world. This particular hotel is encapsulated by the multi-million dollar Bel-Air mansions, Beverly Hills luxury shopping destinations, and premier Hollywood tourist destinations. If you are looking for luxury amidst the glamor and action of the city, you may just have found your match. Being adjacent to the prestigious University of California, Los Angeles, Westwood Village often beams with scores of college students and yuppies, ensuring that every night is lively as possible. Nestled somewhere between Rodeo Drive and the stunning beaches of Santa Monica, you are sure to find something for everyone. Westwood Village is known for its multi-cuisine cafes and restaurants, aspiring artist/intellectual communities, and the gala events of Tinseltown. I am an ardent fan of the W Hotel chain. I have been sold every time with their lavish decor, world-class hospitality, and beaming modernity. And the best part about this hotel, besides being a W Hotel, is that is located in the heart of Los Angeles' Westwood village. I shopped, dined, mingled, and overall had a blast. The location of the hotel also cuts out the taxi costs if you want to stay local and frolic through the streets of Westwood.Recommended for:

I love coming to the W for drinks. The patio lounge area just off the front lobby has cushy places to sit and lots of room, with your expected chic W-style decor. Service is friendly and the drinks are great. For warm summer days, the pool is a great place to hang out. For the ultimate lounging fun, reserve one of their cabanas so you have a place to hang out and escape from the sun when you want. In the winter, sometimes they turn the pool into a tiny ice skating rink around the holidays, which isn't super practical but kind of fun!

Excellent service at this hotel. When I was there, there were complimentary popsicles given out at the pool, various pool toys (tongue in cheek). The gym is awesome, as well as the spa, which only uses the Bliss Spa products. On the weekends hotel bar/lounge turns into a real party.

College town since it sits right next to UCLA. Westwood is always busy, crowded and noisy every Fri., Sat. Night with about 2,000 drunk college kids. If you are a drunk college kid, this is the town for you! Expensive, no place to park, clubs with drunk, scantily clad college girls, lots and lots of overpriced restaurants and stores and hundreds of overworked, stressed out angry police waiting for you to f*ck up!

An exciting hospitality hotspot in a desolate area is the worst. The smart locale of the W hotel in Westwood boasts perfect proximity to the elegance of Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, such as walking distance to the Hammer Museum. Yet, it also allows a simple jaunt to UCLA's campus and college-crowd indulgences like Diddy Reise's decadent ice cream and cookie sandwiches and Habibi hookah cafe (open until 6 am!). Retreating back to one's room offers posh but comfortable decor, think hipster hotel-chic, and all the right amenities like Bliss Spa sample-sizes for a soothing shower. The layout of my suite was perfect for business or pleasure, though engineering needs tipped off to the lack of privacy inherent in placing a restroom next to the entertainment center in the main sitting room. Yuck. Though the views of the W's pool and cabanas and the dazzling surrounding architecture alight at night are enough to eclipse the minor oversite in layout. The W in Westwood is the ideal price for an urbane weekend of unwinding, with plenty of options for activities if leaving the bed becomes an option.Recommended for:

A trendy run down retreat in a lively neighborhood. The room was somewhat stylish, but dated (as 2007) and not as comfortable. The Bliss Spa was just average, the massage room was so cold — a terrible ambiance to enjoy a massage. The in-house bar/night club is super trendy, serves good cocktails and has a great DJ. The hotel is literally in the UCLA campus and within walking distance to shops, restaurants, movie theater, and good bars.Recommended for:
