This is fun and hip hotel with a cool location that is a little off the beaten path, so to speak. All in all, I had a great stay, and this W does not fail to disappoint with little extras that make the stays more memorable. I really enjoyed the lobby lounge bar.

I had just flown in looking for something new in SD and I found this great venue. Its great to have a new place like this in SD where you walk in and you feel the enormity and ambiance. Its 3 or 4 floors of dining space that surrounds the stage. I feel kind of lucky to have gotten in, ...

I couldn't decide what was better about this little stop, the food or the people watching. Law students, blue collar workers, Veterans in memorial hats, tourists, locals; People of every shape, size, age and background crowded into this little shop and I soon discovered why. The food was fantastic. My California Burrito was perfect and the seemed to be exploding ...

When I was here, I managed to get a pint of beer for just $1. Not bad for the few hours I was trying to kill before heading to the airport! The staff are extremely friendly and I enjoyed my time just chilling here. While the prices for normal pints may not be nearly as nice as that serendipitous special ...

This is a wonderful restaurant for a foodie to try! Every dish is packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The cocktail list is fun to explore and their signature drinks are all tasty and you pay for the mixology. The menu does change so you won't get bored. Searsucker was (and probably still is) a very popular dining choice ...

The Spanish tapa style restaurant is upstairs and a lounge/club downstairs with an additional bar. There's frequently a dj and they offer salsa classes during the week. The staff is friendly and the drinks are strong! My company hosted a holiday party here as well and it was comfortable however very dark in the downstairs space!

La Puerta aka the best bar downtown. This Mexican bar/restaurant has some of the best carne Asada fries and good quality food. The staff is also 100%, they have a dj on Sundays making it the ultimate Sunday Funday place. It can be as crazy as you want though, pretty sure we were the only ones dancing on the tables ...

The crab cakes were good as expected. Grand Shellfish platter was fresh but not really enough for two (I guess it's never enough when it comes to seafood for me!) :) I had a whole lobster for main and it was as good as a cooked lobster you'd expect when you dip it in as much butter as you want. ...

There's a restaurant in the back of this store? Nice! Dig the original menus on the wall from like the 1950s. I got the combo plate which had lasagna and ravioli, with sausage and meatballs. All delicious. Pretty good cannoli too, but to be honest I expect a better cannolo from a spot in a Little Italy. (they got nothing ...

Fun upscale gastropub feeling with reasonable prices for the Gaslamp. Known as a burger place, but good vegetarian selection as well. The name Nobu is heard quite frequently in my West LA circle, but I had never been to any of the locations until recently. My friend's father (a major celebrity) took a group to dinner at SD Nobu during ComicCom and, though the food was undeniably great, I did not feel it was worth the ridiculous pricing.
