Gorgeous hotel complete with a nightclub, rooftop bar and restaurant. The overall design, decor, artwork and is fantastic. You can enjoy a drink from multiple cars and enjoy lounging in the swanky lobby furniture.Recommended for:

W San Diego is a but smaller than most other W hotels and looks like a converted Holiday Inn or Best Western. It does offer the same luxurious feel as other W hotels, just a lot smaller. The pool is extremely small but they did a great job of hiding that fact by using a lot of mirrors. The location is fairly close to the Gas Lamp District and the train station. My wife and I took weekend trip and had a wonderful time staying at this hotel. I liked it but not as much as other W hotels and will try staying at the Hard Rock Hotel next time.

Like all W's, the one in San Diego is comfortable, cool, and caters to your needs. The room was large and didn't feel cookie-cuter. There was a large window seat - a nice touch. The lobby turns into a lounge in the evenings. Their whatever/whenever service was helpful (I needed toothpaste), and they have a car that can shuttle you around downtown, free of charge. I'd stay there again.

This hotel is in the Gaslamp district, a bit away from the Harbor, but it's close to the historical area and some great restaurants. I would highlight recommend the hotel for business travel. Some of the highlights are the impeccable service, great bed, free coffee + Bliss Spa Products. They also have car service to drive you if you need it from noon to 7 pm, which is very convenient.Recommended for:

The W is a super hip hotel that also doubles as a cool nightspot. The lobby is covered in bright art and electronic lounge music plays nearly all day. Plus the bar is right there in the center of everything with a DJ booth sitting right on top of it. It’d be pretty easy to never leave this place, especially because of the rooftop “beach bar”. Think lounging, drinking, and sand. It’s a very tiny island vacation that happens to be on the roof of a hotel. The only drawback? The pool is tiny. That’s ok though, the real beach is only a short car ride away if you’re looking to get wet.Recommended for:

I'm a big fan of the W hotels in general and this is no different. I went there for a friends birthday a couple years back.
Rooms are small but nice and modern. And as always the bed is incrdible. I'm definitely going to get the "W" mattress (which you can buy on their website).
On the roof there's a great bar with a great bloody mary. Also there's sand on the roof which makes it pretty cool.
