Waimea Valley Audubon Center

59-864 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, HI 96712
19 reviews

The big draw here is the pond with the waterfall that you can swim in. It's a long walk to get to the waterfall (about 3/4 mile, but it seemed longer), but you can get rides out to it as well. There are various plants that are marked in their garden areas as well.

I came here a week ago and was blown away. Either all of the other known snorkel spots were lame when I went or people seriously underestimate Waimea during the summer. There were a ton of fish which my wife loved and we got some sweet views of a HUGE honu. The jump rock was cool but pretty crowded since ...

Great snorkeling spot during the summer months. It's a little crowded and it has a very small parking area. But the almond trees and wild chicken will keep you entertained.

Nice and parking is a challenge if you try to park outside. Not a big fall as in other countries, but very nice. Worth the drive. Public beach near by is a popular place to sun and surf.

This park does have a large number of open green spaces and picnicking areas. Because of the decent amount of parking available, it was somewhat busy and noisy when I went.

As long as one goes beyond the park entrance and into the area with trees, a little bit of walking will get one to several secluded beach areas, which generally do not have that many people there. Save a few aviation sounds, I heard nothing but waves.
