    Ben's Chili Bowl

    47 reviews

Tourist stops are touristy for a reason usually. This U Street corridor stop is a DC icon. Serving up half smokes with chili, onions and cheese sauce or fries laden with the same, shakes and sodas through the race riots to the Obama administration. Only two people eat for free: Cosby and Obama so bring cash. Because they don't accept ...

    Busboys and Poets

    27 reviews

I cannot say enough about this place. I'm a sucker for coffee shops, and this cafe/bookstore/coffee shop encapsulates everything I love about sinking into a sofa with a latte and a good book. It actually serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well, but my last trip here involved meeting up with an old friend and spending god knows how long ...

    Founding Farmers

    22 reviews

Based on the recommendation of a friend, we decided to drop in on a Saturday morning at 9 am sharp as we heard any later we could be waiting for hours. Started off sharing an order of beignets. This SET the tone for the rest of brunch! Holy crap, was this good. I was trying my best not to hog ...

    Georgetown Cupcake

    19 reviews

It's a bit pricey for cupcakes, but given its fame so no surprise they're pricey. Cupcakes are average, better than your grocery store's cupcakes for sure. I love their red velvet cheesecake icing! That's the only reason that makes it worth buying a $3 cupcake.

    Ted's Bulletin

    11 reviews

Ted's Bulletin is a fun place to grab a burger and a homemade pop-tart. We've been twice and while we've enjoyed ourselves each time - especially the 'adult' shakes - we always leave wanting more for what we paid for. A fun place for a date but not on our list of the best in DC.

    Capitol City Brewing Co

    11 reviews

My parents took my boyfriend and I here. They enjoyed the beer, and I got their chili which is good, but not as spicy as I expected since it claimed to have jalapenos in it. The horseradish mustard that comes with the pretzels that every table gets was really good, but I found out it'll make your nose feel like ...

    Hard Rock Cafe

Generic Hard Rock food: burgers and sandwiches. Not much of a museum for rock and roll artifacts but a good place to rest when running around downtown D.C.
