I enjoyed "The Temple of Dawn." You can climb the steps and enjoy the river views, this is a must-see. All of the major temples are touristy, both for Thais and world travellers, but they have a unique style that tells you a lot about Thai history.

a must see. It is relatively easy to get to with the river ferries. Its architecture is amazing. The temple is made from 1000's of pieces of broken porcelain. It is a small temple and no more than 30 minutes is needed to see it all.
Although shorts are allowed, women must cover their shoulders. My wife just tied a shirt around her neck and draped it over her shoulders.

Wat Arun is stunning but be warned: It's a steep climb. It's a climb well worth doing though as this temple is best appreciated from up close. Once at the top you are presented with a fantastic view of the river and the rest of Bangkok. I particularly liked how the entire temple was covered in mosaics - the details in it were astounding.
