Waterbar serves fresh sustainable seafood in a comfortable, yet very special place. I recommend the $1 oyster happy hour from 11:30 to 6:00 pm everyday. Walk the Embarcadero and stop in for $1 oysters! Wow. You can sit outside with a view of the bay, or cozy up inside and watch the fish in their vertical aquarium. Great fresh food, great drinks, great desserts and service. What's not to love?Recommended for:

This is a happy happy place to go to....I don't know of any other place that starts their Happy Hour at 11:30 AM! And they have $1 oysters all day everyday!! Okay, maybe not all day, just until 5:30 PM (or until they run out), but get here early, seat yourself by the patio where you have a fabulous view of the Bay Bridge, and knock back a few drinks or two!Recommended for:

Whoop whoop $1 oysters during happy hour everyday from 11:30am-6pm. What's not to love? Get your oyster fix here and if you're still hungry, hop over to some place else for a full meal (I haven't tried any other items yet, but from reviews, it seems like I wouldn't be missing much). The prices on other items is pricey. I would definitely come back just for oysters again. They vary in size, but some were big! You also have the option of ordering their other oysters on the menu ranging from $1-3.
Get a seat outside, the view of the bay and Bay Bridge is lovely!Recommended for:

Waterbar is famous for its $1 oysters during happy hour which runs everyday (including weekends!) from 11:30 to 5:30 PM. Although Waterbar serves a wonderful selection of oysters from all over the United States, only one or two types of oysters are available for the $1 special. Oyster size was large and freshness exceptional. From Monday to Fridays you will additionally find drink specials which includes wines and mixed drinks.

Oysters with a view. Located on the Embarcadero, the Waterbar provides diner with fantastic bay views to go along their freshly schucked oysters and other fresh seafood offerings. The wine menu is extensive as are the cocktail options. Happy hour at the bar is a great value for dollar oysters and drink specials. Be it happy hour lunch dinner or brunch, the Waterbar usually delivers in food, service, and ambiance.Recommended for:

Great setting right by the water on The Embarcadero. Good place for a date or a nice dinner. It's all about the seafood here so be ready for some fish, crab and other fanciful dishes straight from the San Francisco Bay.Recommended for:

A great place to take kids for brunch. Nice views of the the waterfront. Our kids seem to be obsessed by fish so they would be preoccupied by the fish in the giant tank in the middle of the restaurant. Food was decent.Recommended for:

WaterBar offers a Gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge, spacious restaurant, nice ambience, outdoor sittings are perfect for a nice day.
$1 oysters from 11:30 AM- 5:30 PM, you can't beat that. The food is always good and consistent here, brunch on the weekend is awesome. The wine list is very reasonable mark up, good selection. The service is quick and efficient here.
1 of my favorite happy hour spots and picturesque view of the water and the Bay Bridge, you can't get a better view than this I'm San Francisco.Recommended for:

My favorite seafood restaurant in San Francisco. Incredible view of the Bay and the Oakland Bay Bridge. Nothing better than a great meal while watching ships pass right in front of your table.

Good drinks, good service, and friendly staff (who you'll be friends with by night's end if you sit at the bar). The place is hip, but perhaps better described as cozy. While it's fine for GNO, it's better suited for a couple's dinner - sit down to a dim-lit meal, have some wine, look out over the moonlit ocean.

Just went here for date night with the wife. Food and ambience outstanding. Exotic selection of seafood eg Australian Jack Sashimi Bonus for those who care about sustainable seafood. A little on the pricy side versus portions. Aquariums are maintained by Academy of Science.

Waterbar is stunning and offers an amazing view! It's great for a romantic meal with a lovely ambiance. Their menu focuses on seafood (everything from oysters to a variety of fish).
They also have an outstanding wine selection, as evident by all their wine displayed throughout.
I would say Waterbar is fantastic for the ambiance and their oysters are good, but as far as the food goes, there are better options in San Francisco that focus more on fine cuisine (Boulevard across the street for one!)
