At the Visitors Center, catch a few short films about Congress, visit the Exhibition Hall with an audio tour on your cell phone, and sign up for a tour of the Capitol building. If you request visitors passes from the offices of a Representative or Senator, it's fascinating to watch debate in the House or Senate chambers.

The building itself is lovely, but watching the Supreme Court in action is the best! Oral arguments before the Justices are open to the public. When the Court is in session, there's a “three minute” line if you just want to take a peek.

I recently had the opportunity to visit a few Senate offices as part of a work trip, and the building is gorgeous - certainly nicer than the House offices. There is a cool modern art sculpture in the main lobby, but the BEST part of the Senate building is the frozen yogurt shop near the downstairs cafeteria. Priorities, people.

Definitely off the beaten path. This museum is not huge. However, it is very informative and educational. Additionally, it is right next to Union Station another worthwhile tourist destination.

You have to give them credit for coming up with a unique idea. Indoor mini golf with alcohol. If you are a mini-golf enthusiast you probably won't be impressed by the golf, but if you just want to have some fun with a group of friends while drinking, it is a pretty good choice

Union Station is a busy portal in connecting with DC from all over the country. It's the hub of Amtrak, the local bus service, and the metro. It has tons of restaurants from fast-food shops to sit down restaurants. It is also in walking distance of many of the touriss attractions.

This bell is almost hidden, as you cannot see it from the street, hidden behind the Columbus memorial fountain, in front of Union Station. It is supposed to be a copy of the Liberty Bell

H Street is what U Street used to be 5-8 years ago. The whole strip ends at the intersection of Bladensburg, Benning, Florida and Maryland. Go ...
