Westin Dublin

35-39 Westmoreland Street, Dublin 2, Ireland

4 reviews

High quality property with an excellent location near Temple Bar and Trinity College. Housed in an old bank building -- the facade evokes history but the internal spaces are updated almost to the point of being a bit bland. Avoid tea / drinks in the atrium. Nothing special and the atmosphere feels a bit more suburban American than it should ...

The Book of Kells was the four Gospels of the New Testament as well as some other texts. It has decoration that combines traditional Christian iconography with the ornate swirling motifs typical of Insular art. I found it very interesting and I learned a lot.

Sure..... this is the "Fisherman's Wharf" of Dublin. It's highly touristy but heck, if you find yourself in Temple Bar you should pop your head in and see what's going on here. We did and throughly enjoyed a free bit of Trad music. You'll find a number of other pubs that might be more down to earth...but heck stop in ...

It's rather undeniable that there is no such thing as a local in the Temple Bar area of Dublin. In fact, most Dublin locals will probably tell you there's no such thing as a Dubln local. True or false, I met a "Dublin local" on a train to Dublin and she brought me here, to The Quay's Bar. Located at ...

The picture perfect Victorian pub. Kind of like going to McSorley's in Manhattan. You don't want to be a regular but hard not to appreciate the history and you have to go at least once. Well-touristed but still draws plenty of locals.
