Whistler has great runs, a pretty vibrant apres ski scene, plenty to do if you're tired of the slopes. It's also a fun place in the summer for forays out into the woods, or a good layover if you're looking for an adventurous drive on your way farther north.Recommended for:
Whistler is a fantastic winter getaway. The obvious activity of skiing Whistler/Blackcombe is the key attraction but you have so many other winter things to do including luging down the olympic track! The village has an amazing feel to it and offers a variety of shops, restaurants and bars.

Wonderful ski getaway that is very easily accessible by highway from Vancouver. In about one hour, one is transported from seaside serenity that is Vancouver to white mountain wonders in the winter time. The combination of Blackcomb and Whistler forms this massive ski paradise that has many different runs at different levels. unless desired, there is no need/reason to repeat a run with some many to choose from. The main village has many great restaruants and stores to offer and if staying within the village, the ski in/ski out option is absolutely the greatest!
Whistler, a couple of hours from the city of Vancouver, is a great skiing getaway when in BC. A couple of days on the scenic Whistler, right on the mountain peaks on the huge trolley cars is just the perfect way to experience skiing...There are a couple of amazing Pizza joints who get u the amazingly cooked thin crust pizza's before u leave for the sport on the peaks. Whisler, which was one of the venues for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada is sure to bowl u over as one of your favourite destinations. I bet. ;)
It's a vacation town that's lively and active both in summer and winter! Lots to see, definitely places to shop and eat. There are also tons of trails to hike in the summer and cross country ski in the winter.
While the focus is of course on winter activities... it can be just as fun to come in the summer and go mountain biking, or hiking. Even just a day at the spa (if that's your thing).
Family oriented they have hotels and rental apartments. Pretty much every price point... and because there's no snow in the summer, there is a good discount in booking a vacation.
Downhill riding has become the most popular summer activity, and I can vouch that it's as an entertaining way to spend a holiday!
A great North American Mountain Top! If you need to go to a mountain top do it here! This is a great place to visit and I went in the first week of June and it is Spring time there and all the tulips were in bloom making the place extra special and beautiful. Got to see folks going crazy over mountain biking. Hiking was my pleasure in a little place just north of there Nairn Falls foot path is just right for my activity level walking! Oh how I want to go back there!
