The other place I'd recommend is Nomad Steppe Tourist Camp at Gun Galuut Nature Reserve. In this location, you will be able to experience sleeping in a ger and be close to nature (it is near the river and the view is stunning). You could also explore the area by bike or rent a kayak to explore the river. One night is sufficient if you arrive before noon.

It is a parliament building and goverment house located at Sukbhatar Square. The place is being visited by locals frequently as it was considered a good location for pre-wedding photo shots.

An excellent point to have a 360 degree view UIaanbaatar - it's located on the hill.

Best spot to see the entire city from the hill

One of the 'must go' attraction while you are at the Terelj National Park - ideally take a horse ride to go to the meditation temple and enjoy the ride and scenery from the top

This is located inside the Terelj National Park.

The Museum of Great Mongol Empire was built on the land of vastness - at the perfect location: in the middle of no where (if you drive to the Terelj National Park from Ulaanbaatar, you will pass this ... read more
place). You can see it from afar: it was simply magnificent and outstanding. You can climb the stairs to the 'head of the horse" and admire the scenery from the top. The view from the top was equally beautiful. By looking at this statue and being up there, you can't help admiring both the Big Chinggis as well as the great country of Mongolia.

The highlight of this place to me is to see the people who visit the place and also the monks who typically roamed around the area, and of course, those kids chasing the pigeons

It is not very far from Ulaanbaatar. Some gers have attached bathrooms - which can be more convenient. Don't miss the horse riding too!

      Hey Cho-
Mongolia is tough because it's SO huge, and six days isn't a whole lot of time. KHARKHIRAA UUL & TÜRGEN UUL are popular for short treks or camel trips in serious deserted wilderness (which is the best of Mongolia), but it's going to be extremely difficult to do this in such a short time. Lake Khövsgöl is also considered a must-see in the country, and is gorgeous, but also more than 700 tough km from the capital. It's easier to fly into and out of Mörön, which is an intermediate stop getting you much closer to the lake. If you just want the big-sky-empty-steppes-and-nomads experience, a stay in a ger camp is pretty awesome. These traditional round felt huts in the middle of nowhere can be reserved here: http://www.mongoliagercamps.net/
In general, there are companies that do tours and jeep charter that can be arranged in Ulanbataar (usually charged per km), but you're still going to have a tough time seeing much of the remote beauty of this enormous country travelling overland in such a short time.
